I think I was distracted by the coats. Or maybe the Clare V bags, or the wide-legged Nike sweatpants or — my usual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale diversion — Vince sweaters. So these Paige Cargo Pants almost passed me right by. Which would’ve been a shame, because…they’re kinda perfect for the Fall of 2020.
Introducing The PAIGE Christy Cargo Pants: A Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Hidden Gem
Paige’s Christy Cargo Pants are skinny-ish, without being aggressively tight. This pair also boasts a higher rise, which freshens the usual cargo-pant silhouette. But best of all? They’re insanely soft and feel — without exaggeration — like I’m wearing sweatpants.
So these cargos have alllllllll of the versatility of the cargo pants of yesteryear, without the bum-exposing low-rise, nor will they call to mind leg-prisons (like some of the truly skinny cargos did in the past). And because they’re not jeans or sweatpants, I think they’ll work for some Zoom work calls, too.
8 Ways To Wear The PAIGE Super-Soft Cargo Pants
I styled these Paige Cargo pants up 8 ways, using a combination of pieces from my own closet and a combination of pieces from the current Nordstrom Sale. I tried to denote which pieces are sold out (and find similar items when possible).
FIT NOTES: I think these pants run a bit big. I went with a size 26….which is one size up from my pre-COVID size (and the size I’m currently taking in jeans)…but I think I might try and exchange for a 25. The length of these cargos may be problematic for the very tall. I’m 5’3″ and have turned up the cuff once in the pics below…except for the high-heeled booties. You can see the ‘real’ cuff in those photos.
1. Casual Date Night Looks
I thought I’d start on a high note and show these pants styled up for situations that most resemble our old normal life.
a. With The Voloshin Bliss Bow – Shoulder Top
For lunch dates, or trips to the market or any sort of walking around the city…this is how I’d wear ’em. Swap out the big straw bag for something smaller, and it’s summer date night for sure. This top gets all of the points for being The Top That Goes With All The Things. It’s my most-worn top this summer.
b. With The Layla Silk Cami
This outfit — with flat sandals instead of those sexy pumps — is how I’ve been wearing these cargos today. Comfy and cute. (And yes — I always machine wash this silk cami…hang to dry.)
Those pumps, BTW, are very comfortable to walk in. I love the unexpected shape — they look very similar to my old Vince Claire D’orsay pumps…but are more walkable and a fraction of the cost. Add a cool coat and I could easily wear this out in the fall (or maybe on a milder winter night).
c. Warm It Up With A Coat
2. Style The PAIGE Cargo Pants With Some Tees
A classic combo, but the updated cargos keep it fresh.
a. Keep It Classic With A White Tee
This is my new favorite white tee, and YES I do like that it’s a bit sheer. That’s why I wear the black bra. These mules are going to be my solution for homeschooling and shuffling out to CVS real quick.
b. Pull A Tee With A Vintage Feel
I think it’s important to note that these cargos are amazing with graphic tees and Vans. I prob wouldn’t keep them otherwise. Whew.
3. This Is The Part Where We Talk About Sweaters
Obviously black sweaters, cream sweaters, gray sweaters — all of the neutrals are going to pair well with cargo pants. So I played around outside that box, just for fun.
a. Pretty In Pink
This Vince sweater is probably my favorite sweater in the sale. I love the drape and the colors (and especially how this pink pairs with the green). And I also love how a little mixed animal print takes this look up a notch.
b. The Monochromatic
This is actually the same style of sweater as the pink one, just sized up one size. And army green as a monochromic outfit feels surprisingly chic.
c. It’s All About The Boots
As I mentioned, all of the neutral sweaters will look great with these cargo pants. But what I’d like to point out here is that FUN BOOTS also look great. (Especially when said FUN BOOTS are also decently walkable for a high-heeled boot.)
4. Off-Duty But Ready To Go
A sweatshirt with an elevated shape and fashion-sneaks are an easy go-to, one that I’ll be rocking all year long.
So…yeah. I highly recommend these Paige cargo pants. This under-the-radar gem is shockingly soft, comfy and so easy to wear.
