Hey there, friends!  Enjoying your summer?  Our July was crazy, thanks to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, happily, it’s starting to wind down.  I had shipped both boys off to camp these last few weeks – Pax to a daily “sports camp” (his choice, not mine….I wanted a sweet, Waldorf-y style camp which he gave a hard NO to…), and Raines went to Camp Twin Creeks, a sleep-away camp for two weeks.  Which just about KILLED me, but he LOVES IT, therefore we all persevered.  For his sake.  Allow me a minute to note my sacrifice.  I plan to bring it up again in ten years or so.

Anyway, If you’ve been following along on IG (@shanachristine), you know we’re now all holed up in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, visiting my family.  Mike will be joining us this weekend, and we have big plans called Floating Happy Hour involving several stand-up paddle boards, rope and beer.  Good times.

SHOP

Do you Yeti?  This is worth an entire article all by itself…..but I NEED one of these Yeti tumblers.  My friend Amber was drinking rose from one the other night, filled with a bunch of ice….and left it on the counter at night.  When we woke up in the morning, there was her Yeti….still filled with ice.

Sale on Sale at Anthro.  Sale items are an additional 40% off!  I’m thinking about this pretty floral dress.  With sandals now, and layered over a tshirt (with midi boots) for Fall.  The print is perfect for both seasons.  Also considering this tie-shoulder top.  It’s nice and long, and would be so cute with a half-tuck into denim underwear.

Thinking of Fall?  I’ve started to work on fall trends…and one trend I think will be huge is the 70’s striped knit top.  You know…ribbed knit, skinny stripes.  Kinda like this top (part of the Nordstrom Anni sale).

Sharing Shades.  I’ve gotten a bunch of questions on the sunnies I was wearing in my recent Instagram stories (and yes – my mom borrowed them in a IG post too, you eagle-eyes!).  Anyway, they’re Tory Burch Modern-T 54 mm, and also part of the Nordstrom Anni sale.

Also, This….

I’m glad I’m not the only one.  “What if I am a mediocre home manager who rarely dusts and mostly maintains order and makes real food but sometimes buys pizza and who is horrified at moments by the utter mess in some areas of her home?”  From the essay, What If All I Want Is a Mediocre Life?  (Thanks, Laura!!)

Life Advice, From Ruth.  I’ve read and re-read Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Advice for the Living.  It’s a gem.  From spot-on marriage advice, to encouragement for working mothers everywhere (it brought thankful tears to my eyes)….it’s a must-read.  (Great find, A.)

I can neither confirm nor deny.  Amanda’s husband, who is a real-life spy catcher (and no, I’m not making that up) is featured in the latest CNN documentary, Desclassified:  Operation Ghost Stories.  This episode focuses on the Russian sleeper agents who posed as regular American families for years.  We’re all giggly with excitement to see Tony (Amanda’s hubs) in action.

Cam’s new favorite workout.  I defy you not to smile watching this dude.  (Or picturing Cam rockin’ out in her living room.)

Happy weekend!!
