Red Wide-Leg Trousers For Spicing Up Date Night

Soo..wide-leg red trousers. Not my usual at all, but I saw them and couldn’t resist ordering them. The bright red hue caught my eye and as you know red is probably one of the biggest trends for this fall. The day they came I had to try them on immediately and fell in love. The more I looked at the mirror the more I thought I would totally wear it to spice up my date night outfit. So, I took on  the challenge of styling these pants with things I already had in my closet and this is what I came up with.

Find a versatile top that looks good dressed down and up

I got this top not too long ago. I fell in love with the sleeves and loved the length. The thing with voluminous sleeves is that they are long and get in the way of many things I have to do as a mom. This top looks good over leggings and tucked in (or not) in jeans. But, surprise surprise, it looks just as good tucked into these wide leg pants.

Heels or flats?

I tried it with both, black pointy stilettos and pointy leopard print flats. Both looked great in my opinion. I think it all comes down to what you’re doing and where you’re going.

Would any of you be interested if I tried to style them a few different ways for the office? I think they could be really good.  Let me know!

Wearing

Top – Free People (on sale) – Wearing XS and runs TTS. Wear it on the weekends and wear it for work on a weekday. It’s really gorgeous and I love the neckline is not too low on the shoulder. I also love this one because even though is off the shoulder is also button down and more tailored.

Pants – Topshop (sold out)- Try these!!! Gorgeous. Wearing Size 4. The side seams can be totally closed or opened above your knee. Retailer pic is not good AT ALL.

Shoes – Vince Camuto suede pointy pumps (old) but these are very similar.

Flats – Dolce Vita (old) but I rounded up a few below. A leopard print shoe is a must have.

Bag – Chelsea 28 – Really nice bag. Holds more than a cross body.

About Author

After my oldest was born, I found myself wearing my old tank tops and yoga pants everyday. I had a ton of unworn clothes in the back of my closet and had a little voice in my head saying “why look nice if you’re going to be home nursing a baby around the clock?” Now, after change of mindset, I apply my fashion design studies to my everyday craziness and document the things I try here on The Mom Edit and my own blog The Unbosom.
If you can’t find me in the bathroom hiding from my kids, I’ll be on Facebook or Instagram @theunbosom begging for bedtime!
