I love the outdoors and I live in Michigan, so it goes without saying that I’m a HUGE Sorels fan; I rely on their boots to get me through these brutal Michigan winters. My love for the outdoor footwear brand has only grown in recent years as they’ve expanded to include boots that are not only weatherproof, but also super-stylish and made for everyday wear.
I’ve lusted over every single wedge bootie they’ve come out with like the best-selling, crowd favorite Lea Wedge Boot and the waterproof PDX Wedge Bootie, but my obsession hit a whole new level when I laid eyes on the Conquest LUX Wedge Bootie. Admittedly, the price tag had me a little shook at first (they’re not the cheapest boots), but every pair of Sorels I’ve ever had have lasted forever — my trusted Out N About boots still going strong after five years — and a pair of Sorels is a solid Winter wardrobe investment.
Any apprehensions I had about the Luxs went out the door the first time I wore them. I wasted no time, and went straight to my local hiking trail to test them out. It took a few minutes for me to adjust to hiking in heels, but after that, I forgot they even had heels. Just today I forgot I was wearing them and sprinted full steam down the trail after my escaped dog.
Plus, they’re are so friggin’ versatile! I bought them for daytime casual wear, but I found that they look even better dressed up. There are so many ways to wear them — from date night to sledding (seriously!). Here are four ways I’ve been wearing them this winter:
Snow Boots Outfit #1: Neighborhood Sledding Patrol
Boots – Sorel Conquest Wedge Booties, $127.30 – $361.99 at Amazon.
Sweatshirt – J. Crew’s ‘Brooklyn’ Pullover, $49.50 – J.Crew’s cornered the market on cute vintage-y sweatshirts and tees.
Scarf – Something Navy Check Scarf, $49.00 at Nordstroms.
Jeans – Citizens of Humanity Liya Ultra High Rise Slim Crop Jeans, $278.00 – My FAVORITE brand, my favorite jeans. I bit the bullet and bought these over the Holidays and they did not disappoint. A serious confident boost every time I wear them.
Parka – AF’s Sherpa Military Jacket, (35% off of $200) for $125.00 at Abercrombie – Also, Amazon has a bunch of great Faux Fur-Lined Parkas as well like Michael Kor’s Faux Fur Trimmed Parka, $199.00, Levi’s Coated Sherpa Lined Mid Length Parka, $96.00, Burton’s Saxton Parka , $284.50, and S13’s Canyon Parka, $159.00.
Hat – J.Crew Ribbed Faux Fur Pom Beanie, $39.50 – Love this brilliant pop of red. It’s a gorgeous color in person.
Snow Boots Outfit # 2: Date Night
Boots – Sorel Conquest Wedge Lux Boot
Cardigan – Barefoot Dreams’ CozyChic Lite Circle Cardigan, $116.00 at Nordstroms – Cozy lounge worthy cardigan that also comes in eight other color options: Black, Carbon, Pearl Heather, Graphite, Indigo, Dusk Heather, Silver Heather and Stone.
Faux Leather Leggings – BlankNYC’s Vegan Leather Leggings , $118.00 at Amazon – I can’t say enough how much I love my BLANKNYC vegan leather leggings. I’m super impressed with the quality and the fit. They look like the real deal and they fit so well- they don’t get baggy or stretched out like other ones can.
Cami – CAMI NYC The Racer Silk Cami, $154.00 – I’m a BIG cami fan- they’re essentials in my wardrobe. They add instant interest to any outfit, casual or dressy, whether it’s a lace hem peeking out under a tee or sweater or paired with a cardigan.
Coat – River Island’s Faux Fur Collar Trench Coat, $160.00 – You might want to get familiar with the brand River Island because I have a feeling you’ll be hearing more about them soon! I fell in love with the British high-street brand in London. I love their styles and their prices. All of their outerwear right now is amazing!
Snow Boots Outfit #3: Snow Day Sledding & Hot Cocoa
Boots – Sorel Conquest Wedge Lux Boot
Denim Shirt – Levi’s Classic Tailored Western Shirt, $34.99 – I like this one by Levi because it’s fitted and well priced. Calvin Klein’s Core Utility Lyocell Shirt and Abercrombie’s Classic Denim Shirt are two other solid options.
Sweater – The Reeds J.Crew Ski Sweater, $78.00 – Loving all of J.Crew’s new Winter sweaters, especially this retro chic, vintage inspired ski sweater. Definitely buying! White and cream colored cable knitwear are a huge part of my winter wardrobe: pullovers, cardigans, turtlenecks, v-necks, I’m always looking for an excuse to buy another one. So much of my winter wardrobe is blacks and dark shades and a cream colored sweater does a great job of brightening up my daily winter look.
Jeans – PAIGE Hoxton High Waist Ultra Skinny Jeans, $209.00 – These dark grey, high waisted Paige jeans are subtly faded and suuuuper soft and are stretchy without losing shape. They tend to run big so I recommend ordering a size down.
Coat – Sherpa Toggle Coat, $350.00 at J.Crew – SOOOO COZZZZZZY. It took me a minute to come around to the fuzzy coat trend (because I can’t go an hour without smudging or staining something) but JUST LOOK HOW WARM IT IS. I honestly wouldn’t take this off all winter long.
Boots – Sorel’s Conquest Wedge Booties
Sweater – The GREAT. Alpine Ski Sweater, $295.00 at Nordstroms. Pricey but perfect. A similar and less pricey pick is Madewell’s Cashmere Sweatshirt in Nautical Stripe, $118.00, or Topshop’s Stripe Sweater, $60.00.
Jeans – AG Farrah Skinny Ankle Jeans (13 Year Daybreak Destroyed), $184.00 – $235.00 – Some of my favorite jeans ever. You can’t go wrong with these ‘tried and true’ jeans, they’re worth it.
Peacoat – AF’s Plaid Duffle Coat, $129.00 at Abercrombie – I can hardly believe it myself, but over the last few years, Abercrombie has become one of my favorite places to shop for affordable Fall and Winter essentials. I especially love their outerwear, they’ve got tons of great styles, the quality is great and they’re super budget friendly.
Scarf – Loft’s Faux Fur Infinity Scarf, $59.50 at Loft – this just looks so soft and warm, like a blanket for your neck 😉
