“I’m wearing this exact outfit on the first day of school!” Greenlea said after we took these (adorable) pictures of her and her brother.
I had to pat myself on the back because I have been striking out when it comes to picking out her clothes lately. (And by “lately,” I mean for at least the last two years.)
She recently informed me she is “no longer into dresses” (after I brought home what I thought was an adorable dress)…and don’t even get her started on those ruffly skirts I used to dress her in when she was younger. Gone are the days when I could pick out all her clothes and she’d be content to just go along with whatever–the girl has opinions now.
(She is her mother’s daughter, after all.)
Comfy Jeans For Picky Kids & Toddlers: Found At Osh Kosh B’gosh
I’m all about encouraging her individuality and creativity, though, so I let usually let her pick out her own clothes…and she picked out each one of these pieces herself. She’s been on a mission to find jeans that are actually comfortable to wear — most of the jeans we’ve tried are SO small…too skinny, too low, too tight. I had started buying two sizes up because of the problems we’ve had with fit. So when I saw that these jeans from OshKosh B’gosh also came in a plus fit, I was intrigued. (Not to mention the buy one get two free deal!)
Did you know that OshKosh B’gosh offers Afterpay? It’s a genius invention that allows you to shop and pay for your purchase in four installments, due every two weeks. (And it’s interest-free!) Afterpay had made our back-to-school shopping that much easier because you can pay a bit now and the rest later!
When we first opened them up, I realized they were too big for her…but that adjustable waistband is pure magic. You just cinch them up to the right tightness, button and are good to go. They’re still a bit big for her, but she loved the girlfriend jean fit, and I love that she’ll be able to wear them for a while!
Unlike Greenlea, Ozzie clearly has no personality😂. Like his sister, he is already voicing his opinions about what he wants to wear. And although he didn’t pick out his outfit here, the fact that he’s wearing it at all speaks volumes about how much he likes it. Especially the jeans–usually denim is too stiff or scratchy or rigid (normally he either doesn’t want to wear pants or is grabbing sweatpants), but these are much softer and clearly more comfortable for him. He especially loves the pockets — I’m always finding “surprises” in them like little toys or candy — it’s a good thing I check before putting them in the washing machine!
Greenlea’s Kid Outfit
jeans: Skinny Jeans (Plus Fit, size 7) – I LOVE these jeans on Greenlea. They run bigger than most jeans her size, but she’s wearing the plus version here. Usually jeans are SO small on her–especially in the rear! These fit more like girlfriend jeans (which she loves) and they have an inner adjustable waistband so you can cinch the waistband to the exact fit you need.
jacket: Polka Dot Mid-weight Jacket (7) – This will be perfect for school in the fall. It has a cozy lining and is water-resistant…plus that hood is actually functional so it will be awesome for rain!
shoes: Ballet Flats (13) – Easy slip-on/slip-off and on sale for $12!
Ozzie’s Toddler Outfit
jeans: Knit Denim Joggers (3T) – These are much softer than I expected them to be! They look like denim but feel more like sweatpants.
Striped Crewneck Popover (3T) – I love, love this crewneck popover. Cute, comfy, and washes (and dries) well!
