I stopped by LOFT recently, and I couldn’t resist trying on allll the dresses. So many of them were nursing-friendly, and perfect for summertime weddings and parties. Others were perfect for trips — summer dresses that could double as beach cover-ups or be dressed up for dinners out. I found that LOFT dresses typically run big, (I’m usually a size 6/28 and found most dresses would fit in size 2) so keep that in mind when ordering! The best part is that so many of these summer dresses are on sale right now . . . lots of them for $35, and a few are on sale for an extra 40% off in the cart. Here’s what I found:
1. Pretty Lace Cap Sleeve Dress
I love the lace sleeves on this one. They balance out wider hips/booty and the back is super-pretty. This one is super-flattering and comfy, and I liked the length of the petite sizes better (I’m 5’4″).

2. Nursing-Friendly Chambray Button-Up
I loved this one. The buttons are functional all the way down and it has pockets! Perfect for nursing. (This one is similar in white.)
featured: Chambray Button Down Pocket Dress, size 2
3. Yellow Stripe Fit-n-Flare Dress
This one is fun. Nursing-friendly, and I love the flare skirt and stripes. The tie helps to accentuate the waist and hide a pooch at the same time.(Also in blue and white stripes.)
featured: Striped Sleeveless Wrap Dress, size 2
4. Pretty Little Black Dress
I loved the way this one fit. Not too tight, but still figure-flattering. It also comes in a bright vivid red that I love (but wasn’t in the store). I’d wear it with matching lipstick, nude sandals and a sleek bun with some fab statement earrings. (Ignore the bralette, please.)
featured: Ponte Flounce Flare Dress, size 2
5. Easy Black Swing Dress
This is one of those dresses that’s perfect for summer trips. Easy to dress up with some accessories and fun shoes, but also works just as well strolling around or running errands. Super-comfortable and easy.
featured: Sleeveless Swing Dress, size SP
6. Nursing-Friendly Yellow Shirtdress
I loved the color and the (functional) buttons, but they didn’t have my size. I’m wearing a size 4 and would usually be a 2 in LOFT dresses (a 6/28 regularly). This one is nursing-friendly and perfect for daytime weddings.
featured: Bouquet Flutter Shirtdress, size 4
7. Pretty Little Floral Wrap Dress
I loved this one but it was too small. I’m wearing a 2P and it probably would have been OK in a regular 2. I love that it’s slightly lower in the back and that the sleeves balance out hips. Such a perfect summer dress (and nursing-friendly!).
featured: Tossed Flower Flutter Wrap Dress, 2P
8. Flutter Sleeve Wrap Dress
This one is crazy soft and comfy, but didn’t come in my size. I’m sucking in quiiiiite a bit. I think it would be pretty in the correct size — and it is fairly forgiving. I mean, here I’m wearing a 00P which is laughably not my size, but it’s super stretchy.
featured: Wildflower Flutter Wrap Dress, 00P
9. Floral Side-Tie Stretchy Dress
This is another soft and stretchy option that you can wear a regular bra with. The tie on the side adds a little fun detail and you can actually tie it how you want it. I’m wearing an XSP and would probably want to go up to a SP.
featured: Daisy Flounce Flare Dress, size XSP
10. Nursing-Friendly Wrap Dress
Hello tatas! nursing-friendly wrap dress! So this one is fairly booby, but it is definitely nursing friendly. OK, if you check out the model, it’s much more modest. I do like the waist-defining tie and high-low hem. This is another one of those crazy soft and stretchy dresses. (It can be worn well into fall over some tall boots and with a cozy cardigan.)
featured: Bouquet Wrap Midi Dress, XS
11. Floral Swing Dress
I tried both a small and xs in this dress and liked the small better. The V-neck is low enough to nurse in (if you don’t mind stretching it) and the small was a bit more flowy. This one would be perfect as a beach cover-up—and could be worn directly to dinner after.
featured: Bouquet Sleeveless Swing Dress, size small
12. Nursing-Friendly Shirt Dress
I was bummed this one didn’t come in my size because I liked the buttons, the pockets and the waist tie. I’m wearing a 6 here which is usually my size, but LOFT runs a bit big in dresses. This is THE perfect teacher dress. I’d wear it in the fall with a light denim jacket and in the cooler months with boots and a cardigan. This dress is super-comfortable and easy to layer.
featured: Floral Tie-Waist Shirt Dress, size 6
13. Tie-Back Sleeveless Swing Dress
Love this easy dress. Another perfect option for trips, this one is super-versatile and can be dressed up for dinner as easily as it can be thrown on over a suit as a cover-up. This one isn’t nursing-friendly, but it has a super flattering drape. (Love the small back tie detail.)

XOXO,
Scotti
Scotti–1. You look fantastic! 2. Bought the wildflower dress which is not my usual style, but it looked like it could be so flattering and it is—I love it. I wore it with a shorter denim jacket and sandals and my teenage daughter said Mom–you look so cute and skinny in that dress! I owe you Scotti–that never happens to this 50yo Mama! So I ordered the white floral wrap dress and the floral swing dress–hoping for the best! Awesome post!
