#MyEverdayEdit – Our RoundUp of The Best Everyday Style

WHOO HOO it’s Summerish!  (Or close enough – I’ll take it.)  For me that means boyfriend jeans and shoes without socks, and….dare I say it…a pop of color?  But don’t worry, you crazies, I’m still ME so obviously there’s a black turtleneck thrown in there somewhere.

Let’s do this.

Doctor, Doctor, Give Me the News

What I wore to one of my millions of doctor’s appointments.  (May is always my checkup month and DOCTORS?  I AM OVER YOU PEOPLE.  No offense.)

tee: last season’s version of this Monrow Vintage tee.  It’s my fav – perfect color, perfect fit, washes and dries like a champ.  (wearing a size S for reference)

jeans: AG Stevie Slim Straight Cuffed Jeans (wearing a 24Petite for reference)

shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Studded Leather Sandals

backpack: Rebecca Minkoff Fringe Julian Backpack

necklace: Kendra Scott c/o (I customized it myself – so fun.)

Pre-Party Pizza

Please tell me I’m not the only one who needs to eat before the party.  Even if there IS food, A. no one touches it and B. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 8PM TO EAT OMG NO NO NO.

As much as I’d like to blame age or something, even in our hard-parting, pre-kids 20’s…a certain friend (love you A) used to stash granola bars in her purse just to keep me from LOSING MAH MIND when the restaurant couldn’t seat us until 8.  8PM!  Who can wait to eat until 8PM?  I’m a 6PM kind of girl.  Or maybe 6:30PM.  AT THE LATEST.

(Scotti was right – I’m turning into our father.)

Outfit Details

sweater: old, from last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  Are you sick of seeing it yet?  The upside?  Best cost-per-wear EVER.  The only thing that’s close right now, in terms of so-huge-it’s-almost-overwhelming-yet-fab is this gray cashmere poncho at Nordstrom Rack.  Same brand and fabric as my sweater….which has been insanely durable, considering the beating I’ve given it all year.

skirt: Banana Republic Pleated skirt (size 2P for reference)

shoes: Steve Madden Ankle-Strap Heels

bag: old, JCrew…but the new one is similar, but better.

Soccer Momming It

Favs From The #MyEverdayEdit Community!

You guys are killing it.  So much outfit inspiration – thank you!!

Stand-Out Accessories

Clockwise, top left:

@the_fly_mommy has me convinced on the kid-friendly David Yurman chain and chambray shirt combo.  Wowza Chick.  Crazy-sexy.

Crushing on @francesayme‘s yellow toes.

DYING over the shoe porn from @lisebyarsgeorge.  I think they’re these Jeffrey Campbells at Free People…..

Oh hey!  It’s @lisebyarsgeorge again – showing the best way to accessorize with a little one:  cute wrap, glam sunnies, and cool earrings (before they get to that grabby-hands phase).  Chick, you’re accessories game has me drooling….

Hats and Dresses – A Perfect Combo

Well played, @romanreboot, @tysieright, @the_fly_mommy and @stylemeetlife!  (How cute is her baby bump?)

Outfit Formulas To Copy

Clockwise, top left:

1.  Boho White Top + Preppy Patterned Shorts like @chrissysunshowers (you can’t see it, but she’s wearing this outfit with Birks!  Perfection.)

2. Graphic Tee + Flowy Patterned Shorts + Gladiator Sandals like @krembdeladkremb

3. Neon Espadrilles + Skinny Boyfriends are a perfect match for summer – thanks @cbdesignshop!

4. Leopard Print Cardi + Tees ‘n  Jeans – the cardi seriously makes this outfit.  Looks so effortlessly cool, @foxsummer!

And because I can’t stop thinking about this top….

It’s Rebecca Minkoff’s Pia Off-The-Shoulder top and @maidenvoyagephotography is wearing it to perfection with boyfriend jeans and her Matt Bernson sandals.

Bravo, @maidenvoyagephotography.  Standing ovation.  That shirt is haunting my dreams.

But a really big thank-you to the #MyEverydayEdit community!  You guys are providing such a nice source of daily inspiration, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that you’ve chosen to play along.  We are so grateful for you.

If you haven’t yet joined, it’s really easy.  Just upload a pic to instagram, and tag it with the hashtag #myeverydayedit.  You can upload a picture of your outfit, a close up of a fav accessory, or if you just want to show off/brag about a recent purchase (or an old vintage score) – that’s cool too.

As always, you can find me on Instagram at @shanachristine, along with the rest of The Mom Edit team:  @scottiliz, @camilledipaola,  and @girlmeetsbaby.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

ps.  We’re bringing back Mom Street Style posts!  They had dropped off for no good reason (just busy I guess), but I have a couple of really good ones in the queue…

    • That’s always the trick, right? I can’t tell you the number of perfectly good outfits that end up on my floor because they weren’t “me”. (Ironically, some were copied because they looked so good on someone else, you know?)

  1. Eeeee! I’m so excited and I flipping LOVE my Rebecca Minkoff Pia top! But to be fair (and in case Hubby stumbles across this post) I was lucky enough to get it for a lot less off of TheOutnet.com! 😉 And now I need your RM Studded Sandals b/c they’re UHmazing. But yea, you should def buy the top! It’s a business investment right?!?!

  2. Shana- the blazer. I am looking for a throw on every day version similar to my Helmut Lang cropped smoking tux blazer. Is this structured or more flowy? Hard to tell and the reviews (to this effect) were mixed. Thanks!

And there is a reason I adore your blog. You (and your contributors) do such a fabulous job representing the wide range of outfits we mamas wear on a daily basis. Keep up the good work! I appreciate you and all that you are up to in this world!

  3. Thanks for the mention! It’s funny; I almost didn’t wear a hat that day because the Italians don’t really do hats. But then I decided that it is (1) a bazillion degrees, (2) I like the hat, and (3) no one actually thinks I’m Italian for many many reasons (cough, pale legs, cough).

  4. My favorite Tieks! I’ve been eyeing those snakeskin print Tieks for a year now. You might have convinced me to purchase them.

  5. Oh my gosh, I can’t agree with you more on dinner hour. We recently moved dinner from 5 to 5:30 and it was a surprisingly hard adjustment. But even without the kids, dinner is 6, 6:30 at the latest. While we were on vacation, my cousins served a separate dinner for the kids and then the adults didn’t eat until 9:15!!! If I hadn’t grazed on the kids’ meal, I would have been the worst guest possible!
