Almost all of our friends are golfers. Like serious play-in-leagues and compete-in-tournaments golfers. Zack and I aren’t “serious” golfers . . . at least, I’m not. He used to golf all the time. But then we got married, had kids, and it’s a wonder we get a chance to have any time to ourselves these days. Which is why I jumped at the chance to have Zack try the Golf Apparel from Bonobos. I mean, all of our friends are golfers, he knows how to golf . . . it would be super-easy to just teach me how to golf, right? I should probably mention two things here: one, hand-eye coordination has never been my forte, and, two, I generally don’t like doing things that I’m not almost immediately good at. Needless to say, I was not a good golfer. I give Zack an “A for effort,” but I think he’ll have more fun golfing while I drive around in the cart.
Bonobos Golf Apparel: Highland Tour Golf Pants
My husband, Zack, measures the comfort of pants by how easily he can do a squat in them. I don’t know where or when this habit started, but if I hear a “look, babe! I can squat all the way down in these!” I know I’ve got a winner. I mean it makes sense — we have yoga pants and leggings when we want to be comfy and they have . . . pj pants? Sweats? Not ideal when you actually want to leave the house, I suppose. Which is why he loves these pants from Bonobos. They’re super-comfortable, lightweight and flexible enough to do alllll the squats in.
Zack usually has a hard time finding pants that fit because he has muscular thighs and calves, so the legs are often way too tight. But because Bonobos has four different fits in pants (tailored, slim, athletic and straight), as well as five different lengths, they make it super-easy for him to find the perfect fit. (In this case, he’s wearing a 34×30 in the slim fit.)
These pants have a few cool features aside from their squat capabilities. First of all, they’re machine-washable, which is basically a necessity for our lifestyle. Second, they’re water-repellant (Zack may or may not have spilled beer on them, and it may have been super-easy to wipe off), so they’d be comfortable rain or shine (plus a UPF 50 sun protection rating). Extra pockets for your phone, coins and score card are just icing on the cake. Oh, and the shirt gripper get waistband? Genius.
Bonobos Golf Apparel: M-Flex Polo
One of the best things about Bonobos is their selection of colors and prints. From prints like fish in a barrel or pineapples, to basic stripes or solid colors, they pretty much have any style you could want. And Zack has always loved wearing funky prints like these pink tropic leaves, so he wears this shirt allll the time. The M-Flex Polo comes in a standard or slim fit (slightly tapered and what Zack is wearing), and is just as comfortable and flexible as their Highland Golf Tour Pants. Like the pants, it’s also machine-washable and has a UPF sun protection rating of 50. This one can easily go from golf course to dinner or drinks, and looks just as good with jeans.
Bonobos Highland Tour Golf Pants (after midnights) – Zack is wearing the Slim fit. Standard and Athletic fits are also available, and one additional fit that’s even more tapered than Slim is the Tailored Fit.
Bonobos M-Flex Golf Polo (pink tropic leaves) – Zack is wearing the Slim fit in large. This one is also available in Standard fit, and a ton of different colors and patterns.
