#TMEStyleChallenge Week 3 Results: Wear Your Pajamas OUT

This was the tricky one. We asked you to take your actual pajamas and wear them out into the real world. Sure, maybe it was a little crazy…but that didn’t stop ANY of you from taking your pajama tops and bottoms (much harder in my opinion) out to see the light of day and style them up with your favorite jeans, skirts, sweaters, you name it. Yet again, we had an overwhelming amount of participation and it became evidently clear that TME readers love a good PJ set. We had a feeling you could make this the best challenge yet.

To the readers who played along and have in past weeks – thank you SO much. We love to see everyone’s unique style and get to know you all a little better. To those of you who still haven’t taken the #TMEStyleChallenge, we have one left this month…

This Week’s Winner Is…

For our random drawing, this week’s $50 gift card winner is Carol! Check your IG DM’s, girl! XO

1 More Challenge This Month

WEEK 4 (10/22 – 10/29): ‘70s Vibe – Appropriate as the closest challenge to Halloween? We think yes. Whether you’re willing to give us full-blown Farrah Fawcett chic or you’ll simply snap a pic of your old platforms that made an appearance on date night, we’ll take it.

Here’s how to play (and get featured on the blog!): Snap a selfie (ours are casual mirror selfies), upload to Instagram and use the hashtag: #TMEStyleChallenge and be sure to tag @themomedit so we can see what you’ve come up with. *IF YOU’RE A PRIVATE ACCOUNT* but you’d like to be featured, DM us!! If you’re a little hesitant to put yourself out there, have a girlfriend/sister/your mom try it, too. The point is to work common pieces already in your closet into something a little ..unexpected. We’ll then publish them (with your permission) into one big article for all of October!

WOOHOO: Readers who participate will be eligible to win a $50 Gift Card for the remaining week of October!

*To be eligible to win you must (please)

  • Follow @themomedit
  • Hashtag #TMEStyleChallenge and tag @themomedit (so we definitely see you!)
  • Participate in the challenge for that particular week

Angela (@stylingseed)

That buffalo check reminds me of the coziest snow days by the fire. But the funny part is, it’s totally in style right now. Stay tuned for some round-ups we’re working on but Angela, you’re already ahead of the game.

THIS. Right down to Adidas, is SO GOOD. We’re all crying a little inside at just how amazing you look in that cut-off tee. A great take on this challenge.

Mary (@mymaria2)

Mary, that bralette is exposed juuuust so. We love it.

Traci (@ladygetsdressed)

That PJ top is totally one we’d rock with a cardi, too Traci!

Deirdre (@leggings_and_rose)

tops | jeans

How do some PJ shirts look good enough to have always been a button-down? This one looks great with your light-wash denim, Deirdre!

Carol (@caroljunebug)

OK, YES. Layers + turtleneck + sunnies + our very favorite plaid booties. Taking a page from your book, Carol.

Krista (@thequirkyshopper)

jeans | shoes

More layers! Love this! Also crazy about your fun metallic slides, Krista. Thanks for sharing.

Jessie (@mountaineer_chick)

Oooo a robe that leads a second life as a kimono! Jessie, this is genius.

Alastar (@ozncocosmama)

Proof that you left that house in your PJ’s!! Bonus points, Alastar. This looks so street-style chic.

Tracy (@chardonnaynshopping)

Hey Tracy! Do you mean to tell us you took on this challenge not once…but 4 TIMES? You’re our hero. All looks are amazing. You look great.

Dorie (@butterfly_doriestyle)

A pajama set 2 ways! Dorie, you make those pretty floral PJ’s look like timeless staples.

Amy (@amyhartboyle)

This top could easily take the spot of your favorite bomber jacket, right? Pair with your fave jeans and you’ve got yourself an outfit. Love this, Amy!

Lauren (@dit_elle)

Not only did you effortlessly style up that PJ top, you paired it with the denim silhouette we’re loving right now. Thanks for sharing, Lauren.

Andrea (@adavis13)

Comfy enough in your outfit to actually consider some heels for the night right?? We love everything about this, right down to your cool statement ring, Andrea!

Janice (@janicepersico)

jeans | shoes

PJ’s dressed up for work! Bravo, Janice! You look like a total boss babe.

Katie (@katieinbkln)

Katie, you have yet to let us down. Hold on…does your top on the right have dinosaurs on it?! NEED THAT.

Jamie (@jamiedrakedaydream)

What a great combination of the wide-leg pant + your favorite sneaks! Thanks for snapping this selfie for us, Jamie.

Patty (@pattykishcakes)

Ooooh, who doesn’t love a great patterned pant? ESPECIALLY if they’re comfy. You look awesome, Patty.

Erica (@attaccafashion)

They’re back!! Erica, tell us more about those pink PJ pants…they look so great on you, chick.

Emily (@etangst)

Can you ever go wrong with your favorite cami? Nope. You nailed it, Emily.

Shana (@shanachristine)

pj’s (similar) | jeans |shoes

It was alllll a dream. Shana’s pj’s may be the cutest ones we’ve ever seen, so obvi they’re worthy of being worn out and about. Note to self *get some embroidered pj’s*

Cam (@camilledipaola)

cardigan | pj’s | boots | jeans (similar)

Cam went for the full pj set + just the top and we love both looks. Try your chic pj’s with a duster cardi to feel a little more covered up.

Jess (@jessbobess)

Outfit 1: top | jeans | mules  Outfit 2: (similar: 1, 2, 3) | sneakers | jacket

Oooo Jess these looks are both so dreamy! You always rock a dress (or slip) over jeans so freaking well.

Tiarra (@beingtiarra)

pj’s (similar) | skirt | shoes | watch | cuff

This entire challenge may or may not have been inspired by Tiarra and this very look. The first time she showed us this, jaws totally dropped.

Laura (@elletrain)

top | jeans (similar)| shoes

Look at this hottie! This is one of our very favorite looks of Laura’s to date. Try your pajama-inspired top with some cool hoops and of course, a little bit of leopard.

Until next week!

Team TME

  1. Thanks so much for the feature! And yes, those are in fact dinos on my shirt. Snagged it as part of a top-and-shorts set at Forever21.

  2. My pants are from Zara. Not actually pjs, but definitely pj-inspired! Acquired in Liverpool during a family trip to the UK this summer.

  3. Love these looks! While, technically I have slept in scrubs, which is pretty much what I wore all week, I didn’t think that was the idea here! Haha! Can’t wait to see everyone’s offerings are this week!

  4. You have got to be kidding me. Encouraging people to wear their pajamas outside the house? How embarrassing for both the adult and her children. Not to mention unsanitary. Time to grow up ladies and act like adults. You are not college freshman rolling out of bed and going to class.

  5. I’m assuming this challenge was just for fun. I think the goal for most new/busy moms is to rediscover their fashion mojo and actually get dressed.
