What was the first thing you stopped wearing when you became a mom?
For some, it’s short dresses, silk clothing, white. In my case, it’s been heels. Sometimes I take a look at old pictures or the heels I haven’t worn in over five years and wonder “how did I ever walk in those?” Does that happen to you? This past weekend we had a cocktail party and I struggled to wear my 3″ heels all night. That’s the highest I can go.
In the same way as heels became a thing of my past, comfortable shoes became my present. While I love sneakers, I usually like to feel and look more put together. That’s why I have more flat shoes than sneakers. Loafers, slides, mules, pointy flats, I love them all. But same as with any other shoe category, most times you’ll find stylish but unpractical shoes. While others are stylish yet comfortable. I always strive to find the latter.
But it’s possible. It’s possible to find stylish shoes that are also comfortable. Shoes that you can walk in and not want to throw away the moment you get home. Shoes that you can choose to wear on a day date with your husband and look amazing. All without sacrificing comfort.
I’ve noticed Born shoes are very loved by the TME girls but hadn’t tried them myself. Well, my time came and I couldn’t stop myself from trying these slides. Let’s say that finding comfortable slides is a hard task, until now. To be honest, I was beyond surprised when I got the package and tried them on for the first time. I’ve never tried a pair of slides so comfortable.
What Makes Born Shoes So Comfortable?
Next thing I remember, I was researching why these slides were so comfortable. If you’ve read some of my posts you know I like to dig in materials, construction, and mission of the brands I like the most. The About Born Page caught my eye right away and I devoured every word. I highly encourage you to do that.
But in case you don’t do it, this is what I loved the most: Their commitment to making a high quality, good-looking and comfortable shoe. Because a shoe should look good, last a long time and be a dream to walk in. Their soles have 5 layers that serve several purposes like ergonomic comfort, support, flexibility and more. There’s another layer in charge of avoiding the puffing noise some shoes make.
Spring is almost here and with that comes day dates with the husband – or friends – and pretty flat shoes.
