I have been loving the off-the-shoulder/cold-shoulder trend lately, but haven’t really gotten to try it out due to freezing temps and snow here in Michigan.  Fortunately, we were just visiting my parents in Arizona where the temps are much nicer and I was able to rock my favorite combo: shoulder-baring tops and statement earrings.

I’ve always loved statement earrings and Greenlea is finally at an age where she won’t grab and pull at them.  I especially like the way they pair so nicely with bare shoulders and cut-out tops.  Here’s how I wore it:

Outfit #1: Cold-Shoulder Top & Cut-Offs

Floral Cold-Shoulder Top (similar top with long sleeves, and this top has wider straps if you’re opposed to spaghetti straps!)

Denim Cut-Offs (similar – I always buy about two sizes bigger than my normal size so they’re nice and slouchy!)

Mirrored Aviators

Earrings (crazy cheap earrings that I keep going back to over and over again!)

Metallic Clutch

Sandals (similar, or these are flat if you’re not into a heel!)

Tarte Matte Lip Tint in Fiery (actually feels great on your lips)

Outfit #2: Off The Shoulder Top & Surf Pants

Free People Off The Shoulder Top (now 25% off) Also available in a really pretty red color. *I ordered both an xs and a small and the small fit better . . . the xs was a little too tight in the belly.

Floral Surf Pants (similar)

Floral Earrings (I bought these for a bridesmaid to wear back in 2012 and loved them so much I kept them!  They are so versatile and haven’t tarnished a bit!)

Amrita Singh Bangles (these are my absolute favorite bangles ever because you can choose your size . . . my wrists are small so most sets of bracelets fall right off but these are perfectly sized)

Sunnies (similar)

Outfit #3: Cut-Out Top & Ankle Jeans

Cutout Shoulder Top (super soft, under $20 and also available in black, light grey, dark grey or red)

Jeans (similar)

Earrings (same pair I wore with previous outfit)

Flip-Flops (these are my go-to sandals for summer . . . they come in a TON of colors, are actually comfy and are currently on sale for UNDER $15)

Diaper Bag (this bag has been a lifesaver while traveling . . . it has stroller straps to hang your bag for easy access and is made of wipeable nylon . . . LOVE.)

We are currently going through post-vacation withdrawal as we came back to a HUGE snowstorm on St. Patty’s Day . . . I can’t wait for SPRING to get here!  In the meantime, here are some more tops and earrings that I’m lusting over:

    • I tried it and felt like it kind of looked weird . . . but I might be wrong! 🙂 Let me know what you think when you get it!

  1. I love your style, Scotti! You are gorgeous! One thing that concerns me about wearying this style is bra straps! Do you have any advice for strapless? I feel like they never work for me- I’ve breastfed both of my kiddos and the ‘girls’ need a little more support. I haven’t fount a strapless that works. You pull this look off so flawlessly!

  2. What type of bra do you wear with these, strapless? Do you have a favorite brand that both stays in place well yet gives a smaller chest (me) some oomph?

    • Thanks! I’m thinking you could pull off wearing a wide strap cami (to hide bra straps) under some of these tops. But I hate adding layers when I don’t have to.
But you looked so good in that free people top that I’m digging out my strapless frenemy to see if these F cups can handle it after two kids. I know, I know, it’s a long shot, but a girl can dream!

      • Actually, that’s why I liked the big floppy ruffle on top! It kind of disguises whatever you’ve got going on there . . . be it small or big or whatever! 🙂

    • ok sounds like you have some experience with these bandeau bras…can you offer advice on which you like the most? comfy? I know they can’t be supportive..but at least not flailing around 🙂 xoxo thank you
