Comfy-chic is what I strive for most days as a mom of two who works from home. In my dreams, I’d love to dress up a lot, but in reality, any outfit that’s easy and looks great is my go-to.

Knit sweater sets are great for that.

From Lounging…To Travel…To Drinks

I'm surprised by how versatile knit sets can be. Wear 'em w/ boots + a trench coat, sandals + a straw bag, sneakers + a biker jacket, w/ a button-down knotted at the waist & more.

5 Comfy-Chic Matching Knit Sets To Wear This Season

It all started with this set I got right before my last trip to Colombia. And while yes, it was perfect for relaxing at home, I was surprised by how versatile knit sets can be. I’ve worn them with boots and a trench coat, with sandals and a straw bag, with sneakers and a biker jacket for a redeye flight with kids, with a button-down knotted at the waist, and more.

So here…while my set is almost gone, I found five great knit sets for looking and feeling comfy-chic.

Sizing notes about mine: I sized down in the pants to an XS, and sized up in the top for extra length. The set has piled, but I use this shaver.

1. Callahan Julia Pants & Tori Top

I’m so glad I wrote this post because it brought me to this brand. This matching set and the next are 100% cotton, and that’s a lot to say, as most sets I’ve seen are made in other fibers, including polyester. The color options are fun, and I want to try that beautiful orange.

2. Callahan Lora Top & Julia Pants

I love cropped tops like this that I don’t have to worry about tucking in. The length is perfect for petites, but if you worry about it being too short, it’s always a good idea to size up as I did with my terracotta top. Also 100% cotton in a lightweight knit.

3. Banana Republic UV Resistant Sweater Tank & Pants

I own the tank and love it. I got it along with the shorts but for some reason, I missed the pants. Not to worry, they’re on their way to me now. It’s loungewear you can wear out and about. Reviews say to size down in the pants. As for the tank, you can go for your regular size for a fitted fit or size up for a more relaxed fit. The fabric is 60% cotton and 40% polyester with UV protection.

4. Staud Mitchell Wide Leg Cotton & Wool Blend Knit Pants

This is a perfect set for tall people or those who don’t want the tucked-in or cropped look. I recently ordered the nude color, which sadly is almost gone, but the proportions didn’t work for my 5’2″ short frame. I loved the material and it was true to size. Material is 60% cotton, 30% nylon, 10% wool, and while the care instructions say dry clean, what I do with things like that is to wash them in the “hand wash” cycle and then lay flat to dry.

5. H&M Rib-Knit Pants & Crop Top

This H&M version will give you a nice taste of a set for less. Even though the retailer pics are not the best, the rib knit seems substantial. Better yet, it’s part of their conscious line made with a majority of sustainable materials like LivaEco™ viscose.

Wear them out now, then lounge at home when it’s cold with a sweater. And of course, get more wear out of them styling the separate pieces with the rest of your closet.

  1. Julieta, do you have magic undergarments to help you look so smooth in those sweater sets? Or are you just magical? 😉

  2. I gotta give a shout out to the Kia Tomlin line for knit sets. I am in love with the pleated pants and off the shoulder top. I’m kicking myself for getting the blue instead of the black so I think I’m going to order another set. It is pricey, but OMG I feel like a goddess in this outfit!
