Fall Trends, Meet Everyday Outfits: 6 Key Pieces From Saks Fifth Avenue
While there are a ton of new fall trends floating around, there are six that I find really fresh & exciting yet easy enough to incorporate into my everyday outfits (consisting mostly of tees & sneakers, tbh). The six key pieces I’ve been eyeing up are denim midi (or maxi) skirts, trousers (but wear ’em like jeans), big ‘ol cuffs, vests, half-zip sweaters and oversized blazers.

Fall Outfit-Maker 1: Oversized Blazers
While oversized blazers obviously look right at home with jeans (even when paired with sneakers), these types of jackets look freaking amazing over mini dresses too. There’s something about that longer length — in fact, throw them on with cutoff shorts, and they’ll look surprisingly chic together.
P.S. That faux-leather blazer is under $140 and has such a cool vibe.
Fall Outfit-Maker 2: Vests
Instead of a tee, try a vest. It’s just as easy but adds some serious style. Once we’re past the hot weather, trying layering these vests over the tee — even a basic white tee would work (this one is my hands-down favorite). It’s nonchalant but still cool.
Fall Outfit-Maker 3: Cuffed Jeans
We recently got back from a trip to France, and while we were there, I saw a ton of major cuff action. Cropped jeans + big cuffs always work, but I’m also intrigued by the idea of the longer, looser, full-length jeans with a giant cuff.
Fall Outfit-Maker 4: Half-Zip Sweaters
I expected this trend to be short-lived…but that was two or three years ago, so I was wrong. But whatever! I’m happy to be wrong! Half-zips sweaters still feel fresh, and I love that they look just as good zipped up (cool collar action) or can be unzipped for a sexy little peek. These particular STAUD half-zips are a favorite of Laura’s, and I’ve just been waiting for them to come out with a neutral option. Voila!
Fall Outfit-Maker 5: Beautiful Trousers
The key to wearing trousers in 2023 is to wear them like jeans. Or even…dare I say…sweatpants? The message here is to hem them for flats (or just be tall) and not be overly precious. Of course, trousers like these will dress up beautifully too, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t also rock them with T-shirts and sneaks.
Fall Outfit-Maker 6: Denim Skirts
If there’s one big (huge!!) trend this fall…it’s the denim skirt. This trend is really about midi or maxi skirts, but I threw a skort in there because, for some bananas reason, I’ve been eyeing up skorts lately (don’t worry — it’ll probably pass). But seriously, how freaking cute are the denim midi & maxi skirts here? I’m wild about the details on the midis (asymmetric hemline, cool stitch detail) and that perfect slit on the maxi. Swooning.
