Hot Girl Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means?! It’s bikini season! I am a bikini girl through and through, and I’ve finally learned why I prefer bikinis for my ultra-curvaceous, plus-size body.
Bikinis work better for me because I have so much extra loving on my bum, but I have a smaller chest area. I’ve tried countless one-piece suits, and I find that they very rarely work for me. I attribute this directly to the way my body is designed. So if you are an ultra curvy plus-size woman like me, I 100% recommend you give one of these cute AF swimsuits a try for the summer.
Before we delve into this roundup, let’s chat about what hot girl summer actually means…
Whose Idea Was Hot Girl Summer & WTF Does It Mean?
For those of you who are curious about what Hot Girl Summer is, here’s the tea. Hot Girl Summer was popularized by the one and only Megan Thee Stallion back in 2019, and has been trending ever since. The OG herself tweeted, “Being a Hot Girl is about being unapologetically YOU, having fun, being confident, living YOUR truth, being the life of the party, etc.,” I think this is why I identify with Hot Girl Summer energy so much.
This is your PSA that EVERY body is a hot girl! Being a hot girl looks different for every person, and it’s important for all of us to find our inner hot girl. If you want to rock a bikini, wear crop tops or house dresses all summer, babe you do it! Life is far too short, and I want to spend it wearing the things that I love, doing the things I love, and strutting it with confidence.

1. Good American Curve Top & Good Waist Bottom
For the ultimate va-va-voom bikini, look no further than Good American. Every single bikini and swimsuit they feature is hot hot hot! I personally have this bikini in black and it is seriously sexy. The Good Curve top is super supportive, and since it has wiring, it does keep the girls in place. While I love the design of it, the one thing I don’t love is that the wiring of the bikini top is all connected, which makes it a little less friendly for packing. The Good Waist bottoms are great too! These are an ultra high-rise cheeky, so just be prepared to show some skin.
2. Girlfriend Collective Caspian Bikini Top & Black Bay Bikini Bottom
If Girlfriend Collective were to be a hot girl, which spoiler alert, she totally is, she would be the kind of hot girl who knows she is the sh*t, and gives you a hint of the VSCO girl energy. She cares about the environment, only uses metal straws, is a member of the Save the Turtles Movement, and wears Crocs everywhere.
Girlfriend Collective is one of my favorite brands for all things sustainable workout wear, and when I recently learned that they just launched a sustainable swimwear collection I was beyond excited! I have yet to get my hands on any of their suits yet, but I am in love with how timeless their swimsuits look. The one-shouldered bikini top is gorgeous, and the bottoms seem like the perfect pair to mix and match. Girlfriend Collective is doing so many things right: they are one of the most inclusive workout and swimwear brands on the market with sizing that goes up to a 6X!
3. BLEU By Rod Beattie Tropical Bikini
I am in LOVE with the pattern of this bikini! It makes me feel like I need to be sitting on a beach in Miami drinking lots and lots of Margaritas. BLEU by Rod Beatie suits are classically structured with all the hold and lift in the right places, and they are some of my absolute favorite suits to wear. One of the few one-piece suits I have is a BLEU swimsuit, and the quality is top-notch. ps. this gorgeous pattern also comes in the form of a coverup!
4. Summersalt Ruffle Oasis Bikini Top & High Leg High Rise Bottom
Summersalt is another amazing sustainable sister, and they are doing some stellar inclusive marketing all over social media. It’s amazing to see more and more brands creating inclusive marketing that represents all body types, mobility types, ethnicities and gender identities. While I love their marketing efforts, I wasn’t in love with their suits when I tried them last summer. But these new styles have me wanting to give them another chance. The floral pattern on this oasis bikini top is so flirty for summer, and I love a good high-rise and high-leg bikini bottom!
5. Lane Bryant Shimmer Underwire Bikini Top & Swim Bottom
Lane Bryant is typically not my go-to for bikini season. Their swimsuits tend to be more mature than what I prefer. But when I tell you this emerald green swimsuit is absolutely gorgeous and so well-designed, I mean it! I bought this suit recently, and it is beyond good. The underwire bikini top is fully lined and feels like the most supportive bra you have ever worn. I actually wish they would turn this top into a bra, that’s how much I love it.
6. Gabi Fresh Bikini Set With Mesh Top
Gabi Fresh is one of my all-time favorite influencers. She started designing swimsuits years ago with Swimsuits For All, and they are my absolute favorite. I actually have this swimsuit in blush pink from one of her first collection runs several years ago. My favorite aspect of the bikini is the mesh tee that tops the triangular top.
7. Lane Bryant Knot Front Bikini Top & Bottom
If you are looking for a full coverage bikini that’s still cute and trendy, this one is for you! Not only is it full coverage, it’s also incredibly comfortable. I tried this one myself and while I loved the design, the pattern was a little too much for my style preferences.
8. BLEU By Rod Beattie Black & White Bikini
How gorgeous is this black and white pattern?! This suit is the same as the BLEU By Rod Beattie bikini I mentioned previously. This suit feels like a piece of artwork and it’s such a beauty.
9. Summersalt Oasis Bikini Top & High Rise Bottom
Another Summersalt bikini that feels like a nod to all things stars and stripes. I like the hint of the Fourth of July that this bikini evokes, and think the suit would pair well with a cute pair of jean shorts or an oversized button-down coverup.
10. Camille Koste Underwire Bikini
Camille Koste is the newest designer to Swimsuits For All, and I can’t wait to give this one a try! The entire design is one I haven’t seen for plus-size bikinis yet, and I love the pale baby blue color.
There are a ton of great bikinis this season, and I can’t wait to strut my stuff on a beach, in a pool, or more realistically in the kiddie pool we have! Sending you all the good hot girl summer vibes y’all!
