It’s a little ridiculous. I have a closet full of great pieces I’ve been collecting for years, and yet I wear basically the same 10 things over and over and over all season long. Below are the 10 pieces that I have been wearing the absolute MOST this summer. These are the pieces I gravitate to when I don’t want to think about what to wear, the pieces I dig through the dirty laundry for and wear even though I probably shouldn’t, and the pieces that as they wear out, I panic about when/how I’ll ever be able to replace them.
Top 10 Summer Outfit Pieces
1. Breezy Black Dress
Most worn item this summer for sure! These types of easy-breezy black dresses feel amazing on, are appropriate enough for many summery situations, and can easily be dressed up for dinner or thrown over a swimsuit for a beach day.

2. Fun Floral Dress
I have an old floral dress from Anthropologie that is still my go-to when I want to feel a bit more fancy. I also, though, happily wear it with flip flops to the grocery store on days that I hate everything else in my closet. My particular floral dress is long gone, but the one above captures its playfulness and ability to be worn with heels and sparkly earrings, or flip flops and a reusable grocery bag.

3. Crop Flares
These were one of my most-worn jeans this spring, and they’ve totally carried over in to summer (at least on the days that are less than 100 degrees!) These are easy to wear with sandals or clogs, and look great with on-the-shorter-side swingy tanks.

4. Comfortable Cute Sandals
I found SO many cute comfortable sandals this summer. Look here if you missed my pros/cons of all the ones I tried (and details about the Melissas above). The Melissas seem to just go with everything I put on, but some of my runner-ups are below.

5. Basic White V-Neck
Not many things less exciting probably than a plain white v-neck, but I wear the heck out of mine. With my crop flares, with my drawstring pants, with maxi skirts, with wide leg jeans… basically with everything. This one from Madewell is soft, comes in tons of colors, and is super easy to wear.

6. Easy Jumpsuit
This one is a good one. I get a lot of “where’s that from?” when I wear it. It kind of looks like a dress until you realize that it’s amazingly not (and therefore your thighs don’t uncomfortably rub together on those hot sticky days.) I love jumpsuits–yes, annoying to go to the bathroom in, but worth it.

7. Drawstring Pants
These are the “bottoms” I want to wear every day…and pretty much have since bringing them home. They are SOOOOOOOOOO soft. So so so so so soft! It took me a bit to figure out my right size, but once I did, I was in love. Size up or order multiple sizes to try.

8. “I Feel Pretty” Tank
So I went a little crazy during the Voloshin sample sale and bought several of their discounted, gorgeous block print tanks. Unfortunately, many of them have sold out, but the silk one below is still available and really pretty in person. I’ve also been wearing the Voloshin X The Mom Edit trapeze top, and it’s definitely an “I feel pretty” option as well.

9. Bold Statement Earrings
Nothing saves a boring outfit like statement earrings. That’s pretty much my go-to motto for “style”. Wear whatever I want, and then add fabulous earrings. Most of the time it totally works. I brought the ones above home from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and have been wearing them almost every day. The pieces move around which adds interest, they’re lightweight, and they look good with everything.

10. Soft Lightweight Sweater
Shana and I both love this sweater. It’s kind of perfect. It’s lightweight, $30, and can be worn tied (cute!) or loose. On recent travel, I rolled it up and kept it permanently in my backpack.
