Style Refresh: Moto Jackets & Statement Necklaces

I’m such a sucker for moto jackets . . .give me all the colors, all the cuts, all the unique embellishments of zippers and collars.  Love.  They’re the perfect finishing touch to throw on over a spring dress or destroyed denim when the weather gets a bit warmer.  For now?  They’re upping my turtleneck game.  LOL yes . . . I said turtleneck game.  Because winter.  It’s cold.  And I need a way to refresh the simple jeans and turtleneck look that I’ll be rocking for weeks to come.

This is the perfect go-to look for a date night outfit that won’t leave you freezing and is super easy to throw together.

Wearing:

J. Crew Jeans: (Wearing 28 Petite) LOVE J. Crew’s denim

Turtleneck: (Similar) I also love the longer length of this one and it’s available in regular and petite sizes and comes in a ton of colors . . . I have it in size small and the neck is awesome because it doesn’t have a seam!

Moto Jacket (Wearing XS) Super soft and comfortable

Ankle Booties (Similar) I’m also loving these perforated lower block heeled booties . . . perfect for transitioning to spring!

Necklace: (Similar) I also love this layered necklace for a more delicate statement look.

I really want to find a nice pair of ear climbers…subtle enough to wear daily. Any suggestions?

Do you wear your winter coat over the Moto jacket? Been trying to figure this out….

YES! It’s way too cold here to just go with the moto jacket right now . . . I have a big parka that I wear outside and then I wear the moto jacket as the top layer . . . like a sweater substitute! 🙂

I can’t tell if that is a faux leather moto jacket or fabric. Nordstrom says: 87% Tencel® lyocell, 10% ramie, 3% linen –which suggest fabric, but not sure. Can you explain?

The one I’m wearing is fabric! It’s really soft and comfy to wear.

What a great selection you picked for all the motto jackets! I don’t have any in my wardrobe but now you’ve got me thinking!

You’ll love them! They’re just so versatile and a little bit edgier than a cardigan . . . although I do love my cardigans!

Does anyone know moto jackets for SUPER long torso? I love this look but I’ve basically stopped trying because anything remotely cropped hits at an absurdly high spot! Just highlighting that I realized I’m basically built like all the Pixar moms…!!! Thanks! 😀

OMG that is the best way to describe a long torso EVER! Let me do some research!

      Hi Ali,
Laura did a round up on Feb. 6 on Moto jackets and one of them she included she specifically said could possibly be for a long torso. It is from Express and it is black, it is on sale right now for $129. I also to have a long torso and I commented on that particular moto jacket. Hope that helps

Hi Ali! I have the same absurdly long torso problem, which is why it’s so hard to find good moto jackets! But I did some research and tracked down some good options!
      1) http://amzn.to/2kd82DQ – In love with the longer style, simple front and stretchy back panel on this real leather moto jacket/sweater hybrid. All the colors are gorgeous- I’m digging the navy & bordeaux
      2) http://amzn.to/2kQng3q – I’ve had great luck with the sweater/jacket hybrids, the lighter colors on this one are perfect for spring
      3) http://amzn.to/2kdaD0y – So pretty in pink, looks like it hits below the hips
      4) http://rstyle.me/n/ceweiabdi6f – This Madewell’s one’s been on my radar since last fall – it’s longer in the front than their other ones, but more cropped in the back. Reviewers say the leather is super soft and molds to your body over time.

Here is the one I linked to in the post. (Thanks Kristy B!) Maybe Scotti will run across others, too, though! http://rstyle.me/n/cecwjib5hx7
