#TMEStyleChallenge Week 1 Results: Wear Animal Print to Work

Welcome to October’s very first #TMEStyleChallenge! This week, we dared you to take animal prints to work and we quickly learned that our awesome readers are not ones to pass up a dare (we respect that). So many of you stepped-up to make leopard, snake-print, etc. office appropriate (or something like that) and the results do not disappoint. Scroll through for a TON of inspo from readers just like you + some extra fun ideas from Team TME. A huge thank you to those who participated and we hope to see even more readers join in the fun before October is up! Next challenge = Non-Skinny Denim!

This Week’s Winner Is…

For our random drawing, this week’s $50 gift card winner is: Nicole! Check your IG DM’s, girl! XO

3 More Challenges This Month

WEEK 2 (10/8 – 10/15): Non-Skinny Denim – Anyone else getting sick of their skinnies? Show us how you’d style flares / your old boot-cuts / cropped-flares..ANYTHING other than skinny jeans. Oh, and don’t forget to show us the shoes..that’s always the tricky part.

WEEK 3 (10/15 – 10/22): Wear Your Pajamas OUT – Did we just make you gasp? Good. We challenge you to make an actual pajama piece work in a real-life outfit. Pajama-inspired works too but bonus points will only be awarded if you’ve actually slept in it.

WEEK 4 (10/22 – 10/29): ‘70s Vibe – Appropriate as the closest challenge to Halloween? We think yes. Whether you’re willing to give us full-blown Farrah Fawcett chic or you’ll simply snap a pic of your old platforms that made an appearance on date night, we’ll take it.

Here’s how to play (and get featured on the blog!): Snap a selfie (ours are casual mirror selfies), upload to Instagram and use the hashtag: #TMEStyleChallenge and be sure to tag @themomedit so we can see what you’ve come up with. *IF YOU’RE A PRIVATE ACCOUNT* but you’d like to be featured, DM us!! If you’re a little hesitant to put yourself out there, have a girlfriend/sister/your mom try it, too. The point is to work common pieces already in your closet into something a little ..unexpected. We’ll then publish them (with your permission) into one big article for all of October!

WOOHOO: Readers who participate will be eligible to win a $50 Gift Card for the remaining 3 weeks in October!

*To be eligible to win you must (please)

  • Follow @themomedit
  • Hashtag #TMEStyleChallenge and tag @themomedit (so we definitely see you!)
  • Participate in the challenge for that particular week

Deirdre (@leggings_and_rose)

pants

We’re OBSESSED with those pants, Deirdre! Readers: if you are too, they’re linked above.

Helen (@valleyoftheshoes)

Helen, we love how you rocked your animal print for play – so effortless and easy. Those radio flyer pictures are the sweetest.

Marie (@mariecoolman)

Who doesn’t love a little hint of leopard?

Krista (@thequirkyshopper)

skirt

Krista (one of our #TMEStyleChallenge OG’s) is rocking the CUTEST Who What Wear skirt (linked above) from date night to daytime. Love.

Katie (@katieinbkln)

Katie tried out this challenge not one but TWO days for work. Bonus points for bonus selfies, girl. We love both of your takes.

Kim (@kimleval)

Nobody has to convince us of the power of a good blazer. Such a great way to work animal print into your work wardrobe, Kim.

Tracy (@chardonnaynshopping)

Oh hey, Tracy! You look adorable in your mixed prints..we’re sure Tiarra would totally approve (:

Nicole (@nicolebutler)

earrings

Nickel & Suede earrings are a TME fav!! If you haven’t heard of this brand, take a peek through the link above (we love owner, Kilee and think you all will too). We love how you rocked not one but two fun accessories for work, Nicole!

(@lmcdoc1)

Did you coordinate with Marie above? Or do great minds just think alike? We’re in love with this pretty pool blue + leopard color combo..and those flats!

Mary (@mymaria2)

Mary, you look beautiful and ready rock your work day. Thanks for sharing, chick!

Elizabeth (@elizabethrafter)

sweater (left)

YES, Elizabeth. You’re giving us all the heart eyes. We’re willing to bet everyone at work loved those leopard sneaks. Thank you for your continuous support. Xo!

Elisa (@elisawithans)

Yay, teachers! Elisa, we love how you rocked your animal print in the classroom. I think we all know a few little students who would be VERY impressed by those fun flats.

(@blackismyfavoritecolour)

Ok woah. This outfit is SO. FREAKING. GOOD. The tee + the blazer + the shoes has us totally inspired to try it ourselves.

CONTRIBUTORS

Shana (@shanachristine)

pants (similar) | booties

Those leopard booties are to-die-for, S. You mean business in those bad boys.

Laura (@elletrain)

jacket | cardigan | top | pants | bag | booties

Pattern mixing + layering all at its finest. Laura has been rocking leopard so freaking well this fall.

Alexis (@alrglobal)

Lex went for a bit of a librarian vibe to tone down the leopard..love!

Jess (@jessbobess)

jacket | top | pants

Jess is kiiind of a genius with colorways. We love these subdued stripes + leopard tank.

Julieta (@theunbosom)

(Left) tee | belt | jeans
(Right) coat | topshoes

Julieta says the left is her real life and the right is her imaginary life. Either way, we think these looks are the perfect mix of classic and cool.

Camille (@camiledipaola)

top | skirt | shoes

This might as well be a look taken straight out of a magazine. Cams rocked her animal print in the most model- off-duty kinda way.

Tiarra (@beingtiarra)

top | skirt | booties | watch

Last but not least…Tiarra took her timeless oxford and paired it with a crazy flattering leopard pencil skirt. Now that’s how you pattern mix at the office!

Xo,

Team TME
