Sometimes I get tired of jeans. Really tired. They’re all this Work-From-Home Mom wears. Even though I’ve added different cuts into my collection to mix things up, the last thing I want to put on when I get off Mom Duty is jeans and a fancy top.
I need something different.

A Romantic Floral Dress To Love: The Reformation Susanna Wrap Midi
The more Image Consulting classes I finish (I’m getting a certificate at FIT), the more I analyze my closet. Recently, I was going through it and noticed that even though I don’t have a ton of dresses, the ones I have and love are wrap dresses.
They’re my go-to for family dinners, blogger events, holiday celebrations and date nights, plus a lot of times they’re my favorite thing to make my jeans look FUN. If you follow me on IG (@julietatorresd) you know it!
Wrap dresses remind me I can look put-together, feminine, elegant and sexy. That I’m more than a Messy Mom running to school pick-up with a napping 3-year-old, parking in the wrong spot and getting a ticket #truestory. Wrap dresses remind me that I’m still me, the girl who loves to dress up.
If you get one thing out of this post, find that outfit that makes you smile the minute you put it on. Even if you can’t wear it in your daily life.
Reformation Susanna Wrap Midi Dress
I got this Reformation dress on Black Friday. I don’t usually spend a lot on dresses because of my casual lifestyle, but after seeing how much I wear my other wrap dresses I knew I could invest in this one and not worry it would sit in the back of my closet.
I wore it on Christmas with tan block-heeled booties. Then I took it to Colombia and wore it for my 10th wedding anniversary with black tall boots. For these pictures, I went for OTK boots to keep my legs warm. I still need to try it as a kimono with some jeans, which is another way I like to wear my dresses.
Things to keep in mind…
- The sleeves are puffy. I love it because I have a small back and simulating a wider one makes me look more elegant and powerful. On the contrary, my sister who has a wider back is not a big fan of this style.
- You might need something to keep the wrap closed. I usually add some sew-on little snaps, use a security pin, or a small huggie hoop earring like I did here (pictured below).
- This is a midi dress, I’m just petite. On the model it hits the mid-calf. On me? well, I’m under 5′ 2″ and it comes down almost to my ankles. I actually like the length like that, but I know I can hem it if needed.
- The slit doesn’t open as easily, at least not on me. Which is good if you want it for work, or a more serious occasion. Since I was going out with my husband, I gathered the skirt a bit with a safety pin so I could show some leg.
