With Valentine’s Day coming up this week, it’s got us hearting all the red everything. And is there anything more classic than a red dress when it comes to the perfect romantic Valentine’s Day look? Or any special event really. There are SO MANY different types of red dress that the possibilities are endless. For example in the above pic, Shana and I both wore red dresses over Christmas for a special family event, but that’s where the similarities ended. While she went classic and sexy in a bright red, high slit dress (right), I went more boho with a floral mini in deep burgundy.
Four Dreamy Red Dress Looks
I’ve pulled together some of my favorite red dresses of all time (in every shade), and put together complete looks — four different styles of dream red dresses, worn four completely different ways — plus a round up of allllll the best red dresses out there that I could find….So here we go…
Slip Dress: J.Crew Collection Mixed Satin-Crepe Slip Dress, $198.00 at J.Crew. Probably my new favorite slip dress of all time. This color is beyond gorgeous, just so lovely and also fully stocked!
Pumps: Something Navy Nina Pumps, $119.95 Exclusively at Nordstrom. How gorgeous are these pumps?? They’re at the top of my ‘Wish List’ at Nordstrom…give me a reason to wear them and I’m buying them. Come on Jonathan, take me to the ballet or the Opera or something worthy of these pumps!
Jacket: [BLANKNYC] Faux Fur Jacket, $148.00 at Nordstrom. A lux faux fur like this one from [BLANKNYC] is the perfect textural contrast/complement to the satin slip dress and the croc clutch. Contrasting textures in an outfit is the formula for the perfect look.
Clutch: Brahim’s Ruth Embossed Leather Clutch, $145.00 at Nordstrom. Love this clutch so much — it goes so great with sexy satin and rebellious faux fur.
Dress: Fame and Partner’s The Augustine Dress, $295.00 at Shopbop. So far this is my favorite Spring-minded dress. Flow-y and fun, and a perfect dress to get over this Mid-February Winter hump.
Jacket: Everlane’s Denim Jacket, on sale for $88.00 at Everlane. Originally priced at $185.00, Everlane’s Denim Jacket is super well-rated and also comes in six different colors.
Wedges: Soludos Lace-Up Tall Espadrilles, $99.00 at Madewell. I’m a LONGTIME fan of Espadrilles; they are all I wear really in the Summer. Soludos are suuuper comfy, and so easy to wear that I forget they even have a heel.
Bag: Poolside Bag’s L’Petite Mini XO Basket Tote, $75.00 at Shopbop. Such a cute mini-tote that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day and beyond.
Red Dress Outfit No 3: Romantic in Red
Dress: Keepsake Wave Dress, $195.00 at Shopbop. The colors and floral pattern on this dress are just soooo gorg. I love the tiered ruffle hem too. Keepsake Label makes some of my favorite dresses ever.
Jacket: Madewell’s Washed Leather Jacket, $498.00 at Madewell. Shana’s fav, go-to leather moto jacket and the only jacket she wore throughout their Iceland trip.
Boots: Steve Madden Brinkley Over the Knee Stretch Boot, 20% off for $99.90 at Nordstrom. My favorite pair of affordable OTKB’s out there right now. I love the pointed toe, the low heel and most importantly, the stretch.
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff’s Leather Backpack, $295.00 at Bloomingdale’s. Okay, unless you’re new here, you know how much the TME adores this bag, SO MUCH. In fact, I’m writing this from the airport, and this is the bag I trust with MY LIFE!
Dress: Keepsake’s Only Surrender Mini Dress, $220.00 at Shopbop. Dream dress right here. As soon as I saw this dress, I gasped. I was done — it’s pretty much my perfect dress, and could just as easily be worn with almost anything including black, white or neutral OTKB’s, mules, pumps or sandals.
Heels: Madewell’s Regina Ankle Strap Sandals, 38% off for $99.00 at Madewell.
Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff’s Jean Leather Crossbody Bag, $198.00 at Nordstrom.
