Look at us in our cute Mickey gear. There are few characters I get excited about — and Mickey Mouse is one of them. Let me explain the Mickey tee on Mickey tee on Mickey coffee mug on Mickey Mouse Club belt bag lewks happening above. This upcoming Thanksgiving 2020 was supposed to be our extended family’s magical trip to Disney World in Florida. The kiddos are mostly of prime-Disney-World-enjoyment age and it was all planned to a tee (pun intended.) We were all so excited! And then, 2020.
So, we’ll have to postpone that magic for another year (and we’re STILL so excited for when that comes around!) but because of all of the changes and ups and downs, I wanted to be intentional about bringing a little magic to back-to-school. There’s always this excitement that surrounds the first day of school. And, seeing that Sienna is just starting 2nd grade, I still want that spark of fun for her on the first day!

Adorable Back-to-School Supplies From shopDisney To Bring A Little Magic To Your Fall
Mickey & Minnie are some characters I can get down with going all-in for. Last year I started collecting vintage Mickey tee shirts for our upcoming trip. ShopDisney.com has some adorable vintage-style tops for kiddos, and for moms and dads. Love this little ringer tee Sienna has on here. And can we talk about this adorable Minnie Mouse letter jacket? With crystal snaps??! Sienna was stoked over that bling detail.
…And Mickey Mouse Outfit For Mom
Y’all. I had this EXACT Mickey Mouse Club belt bag when I was a kiddo; I got it on my first visit to Disney World! I can’t believe they’ve recreated it just for me. Haha. One thing I’m gonna institute is a little morning stroll to the park to keep us in somewhat of a routine like we used to have. The walk into school was always a fun time (most) mornings and I think it’s gonna be a great habit to stick to for a bit of normalcy. Also, anyone else the biggest fan of the belt bag now? I mean: face mask, phone, keys. That’s all we really need these days and it leaves hands free for holding. Gah, I’m going to make myself cry here…
For “Art Class” At Home…These Cute Sets
Art is definitely a priority at our house, so there will be dedicated time each day for Sienna to sit down and create. We all know this school year will bring major adjustments on all of our parts, but this is something non-negotiable if you’re my kiddo. I’m going to prioritize sitting down with her at the same time to reinstitute my daily sketchbook habit, too. And I may also have to use some of these aliens erasers, if she’ll let me. Don’t tell her but that Baby Yoda cup is mine…
This year, backpacks might be for picnics at the park and keeping stuff organized at home instead of trotting necessities into school, and art class might look like a stint on the front porch with mom, while the morning walk may just take us around a few blocks and back home, but we will make the best of it, y’all. We will focus on this special time we get to spend together and give ourselves breaks from things to stay connected and de-stressed. I’m determined not to let the rest of 2020 get me down. There are struggles aplenty for many, and I’m definitely not suggesting there aren’t, but when we can, I’m going to keep an open heart and mind and try to stay positive, for our own sanity in this household.

Thank you so much to shopDisney for sponsoring this post. The nostalgia brought on by thinking back to my first trip to Disney World was a welcomed treat right now! Plus, I’m loving all the cute vintage style tees and clothes you’re offering! I’m a big believer that kiddos need lots of magic in their childhoods…so, thank you for continuing to bring that to us through fun gear, your amazing movies and just the general spirit of Disney. Love that I can share what I grew up on with my little gal.
