You may have noticed a little trend on my Instagram lately (@elletrain) and that trend is black floral. It’s actually an on-going trend in my world and I will forever love it. It’s floral with an edge = my favorite.

Option 1: Colder Temps

I don’t wear a ton of dresses, but when I find one I really like I want to be able to style it multiple ways and definitely wear it in multiple seasons. I’m finally an OTK boot convert and adore them with dresses this time of year. For me, leggings don’t really work for any purposes outside working out or lounging, so the OTK boots give me the leg coverage I need while still fitting my style well. LOVE them.

I warmed up the upper parts by throwing on this amazingly cozy jacket that is essentially a better-looking Snuggie.

Outfit Details

Dress (same print, different cut) – Express Wrap Dress – Sadly, my exact dress is sold out but I’m loving all these black floral dresses at Express right now and this one is the same print, just a different neckline. It would be cute with a black turtleneck under it for more warmth, a la Shana-style.

Boots – Marc Fisher Yenna OTK Boots – Gwen and I both have and LOVE these. They’re comfy, flattering and stay up well with the drawstring. They make me want to wear more dresses and that’s saying a lot! Ha. LOVE. TTS.

Coat – Apricot Batwing Coat – This was a random purchase from a site I don’t typically shop earlier this year, but I LOVE this coat. And it’s $33. It’s one size and good to note that the sleeve cuffs are a little bit snug, but the coat is THE coziest thing you’ll ever wear.

Earrings – (similar) Baublebar Slim Bow Drop Threader Earrings

Lipstick – MAC Russian Red – Favorite red. Not too blue, not too orange. Just bright and lovely.

Option 2: Less Cold Temps

Black booties (similar) – Halogen Anita Bootie – Mine are old Nine West, but these are SO cute and get a ton of great reviews.

I love these dresses for holiday or beyond (a theme I’ve been talking about ad nauseum I know! Haha. No one trick ponies in my closet though!) Thinking I will wear the warm combo here to our Christmas Day lunch and be warm and festive!
