Dress (40% off)

Who here doesn’t love an amazing outfit that includes leggings? Yes, yes I’m wearing leggings under that beautiful dress.

One of my basic go-to outfits during the cold months is faux-leather leggings with an oversized pullover. I’ll usually wear it by itself around the house, but I always use it as a canvas to dress it up when I go out. It allows me to be comfortable and warm while looking like I’m going to conquer the world. I mean it! Last year I gave it a nice twist with a blazer and high top sneakers. I was actually wearing the same leggings and sweater I am in these pics.

This year when I saw this dress, I knew it would be perfect for this canvas in a different way. If you check the last pic, it was perfect for my life as a WAHM. Casual yet put together. But this time I wanted to honor those of you who work outside of the home and need to look amazing in your own way.

This is a dress you can wear by itself with just heels or OTK boots. But I made it more versatile by wearing it over my faux-leather leggings/pullover combo. As a dress AND a coat! Take a look…

Wear This Chriselle Lim Piece as a Dress

It looks polished and elegant while feeling warm and comfortable. The v-neck sweater makes it look like you’re not wearing anything under the dress, but you have an extra layer.

Wear the Wrap Dress as a Coat…

Instant mood changer! The dress is gorgeous closed, isn’t it? But if you need a more casual vibe, TA-DAA!! This solves the problem! The minute I untied it, I felt more casual and relaxed. You see my awkward pose?

PS: If you don’t follow me on IG, I want you to know that I’m getting a tummy tuck to fix my muscles, hernia and skin. I know I don’t need to justify my decision, but I feel that it’s important to share my journey. So you can find me over at (@julietatorresd). There’s also a lot of high-rise jeans, athleisure, and a raw and vulnerable take on motherhood. I believe social media shouldn’t be for the good things only.

  1. Office mama here. Gorgeous color, love it. I’d wear it closed as a dress with the leggings for sure, although knowing my chest (it’s a blessing and a curse!) I’d need a neckline-raiser of some sort underneath to avoid excess cleavage. I do like it both ways! But wouldn’t wear to work open… too much leg for my relatively conservative office. A skinnier mini could get away with it though.

Good luck with your procedure. You’re right, you don’t have to justify your decision to anyone, but I applaud your courage and willingness to share with the world! You do you!

    • Love your feedback! I think a mock or turtle neck would look great too!! and yes I love it closed for the office and would open it when running to get the kids afterwards. And thank you so much for your support!

  2. I agree fully with Kristen about you doing you. You have been dressing yourself beautifully and brave this whole time revealing truth that I have needed to hear and see in some shape or form. Thank you for your truth and best wishes.

  3. Love how you styled it! I have been thinking about this dress since your Nordstrom post. My style is all over the place. I think I need to pair it down a bit, but I just love fashion. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, you are beautiful and I really admire your strength. Very best wishes to you and a BIG Thank You!

  4. I’m late to the comments, but just wanted to let you know that I had a tummy tuck two years ago. Recovery is a b*tch, but I am so happy with the results. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. I’m 5’2″, and after two pregnancies (including twins), I had so much skin that I finally realized was going no where without surgery. Best wishes for your procedure and recovery!
