Happy New Year!! My resolution? To wear less tall boots+leggings+tunic outfits. Haha. Ha.
But seriously, although I can definitely find myself in fashion ruts, I’m always trying to be a little more creative with my winter clothing options. I say this because it’s easy to be creative when you don’t have to worry about giant snow banks or super-cold temperatures–considerably harder when you do.

So my most recent “twist” on my tried-and-true favorite of black-on-black? Adding a colorful moto jacket (in lieu of a cardigan) and leopard print booties (in lieu of basic black ones).
All Black With a Twist: Colorful Moto Jackets & Leopard Print Booties
jacket – KUT from the Kloth Faux Suede Jacket – wearing size xs, I love the color of this jacket and all of the details.
jeans – PAIGE Transcend Hoxton High-Rise Ultra Skinny Jeans (non-ripped version, also in dark denim here) These fit really nicely, especially on curvier bodies.
sweater – Lord & Taylor Cashmere Crewneck I’ve been wearing these in lieu of t-shirts and they’re awesome. So soft and warm and perfect for layering . . . and on sale!
boots – Dolce Vita Cotlyn Booties Probably my favorite booties right now . . . the leopard goes with everything and the heel is nice and walkable. Super-comfortable, on sale and in a ton of different patterns.

I have to shout out The Courtyards bar in Marquette, where these pics were taken. I just had the best drink I’ve EVER had there: the Mount Marquette-arita (the drink in the pics above). It’s a spicy margarita and tastes SO good. If you’re in the area, definitely check this place out–there are lots of awesome cocktails to choose from, and the bar manager, Chris, is super-friendly and knowledgeable.
