Three years running, these Rag and Bone Gunnars are still my favorite cut-offs. They’re approaching denim underwear, but thanks to the step hem, they’re actually a little longer in the back, so I’m not terrorizing the city of Philadelphia with Peeking Cheeks.
(Mike, a die-hard fan of Peeking Cheeks, isn’t completely on board, but there’s still Lotsa Leg which somewhat appeases.)
Anyway, I discovered an outfit formula recently, one that feels especially fresh right now, given the explosion of ruffles and the outbreak of statement sleeves. And one that looks especially good with cut-offs. Enter….
…The Sleeveless Turtleneck.
I mean, c’mon….you had to know this was coming. It was only a matter of time. #turtlenecks4eva
But before your eyes roll completely to the back of your head….hear me out: A sleeveless black turtleneck, when paired with big sunglasses, evokes a distinct Jackie-O vibe, does it not? One could then cement the reference by pairing with white jeans….or…take it in a completely different direction with distressed cut-offs.
Personally, I like the edgy/classic pairing. (And simple nude sandals are a nice, minimalist nod.)
Outfit Details – Day
top: Rag and Bone Thea Tank (size xs) – love the cutout at the back of the neck. Interesting, yet subtle.
shorts: Rag and Bone Gunnars (size 24 for reference, but they do fit smaller than AG’s size 24, and much smaller than Rag and Bone’s Dres.)
sandals: Splendid Mason sandals
sunglasses: Tory Burch
bag: Clare V. drawstring pouch
On Raines: tee (40% off!) | shorts | sneakers
On Pax: tee (everything else is old…)
Oh and hey: If you live in Philly, this year’s Parks on Tap is SO GOOD (get the rose – you won’t be disappointed). I wore this outfit to the Schuylkill River location on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We bought a football, played cards, stuffed ourselves….and then took a nap in the hammocks. Bliss.
When I swap out the flats for heels, and add a few pretty touches….this outfit combo even works for date night.

A huge thank-you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! I’m always thrilled to feature my favs, and Rag and Bone has been on my short list for years. As always, all thoughts, opinions (especially rose > beer), and product choices are my own. And readers, thank you for your continued support. It doesn’t go unnoticed, and is so very much appreciated!
Wait–what about Pax’s outfit? (Particularly the shirt, my kiddo saw it and wants it, lol.)
So happy you asked, I triple checked to make sure it wasn’t linked!
Sorry gang – just updated the post! And here’s a quick link: http://rstyle.me/n/cq8c54b89h7
(Vaguely) modest, but sexy! But your boys stole the show, I’m afraid – what gorgeous mopheads you have.
Love this styling idea. Thanks for sharing. Rag n’ Bone makes the best denim 🙂
