Styling Leopard Booties for Everyday

If you saw my London post or follow me on Instagram (@elletrain) you have seen my latest obsession: leopard boots. I found this pair and they are comfortable yet chic and stylish. Isn’t that the goal in general? A chic, stylish everyday shoe? It is for me anyway.

I love love these boots and have shared them quite a bit lately, but I realized providing some outfit ideas would be helpful in convincing everyone how versatile a printed shoe could be. We talk about leopard being a neutral, but until you own a leopard print piece it may be hard to picture how it can go with so much, even other prints!

Outfit 1: Camo + Black

I have to say I was even skeptical myself about this combo before I tried it, but I love it. Mixing two prints that work together makes my designer heart so happy. I think a black sweater or tee on top grounds the two patterns. I tried it with a gray sweater and didn’t like it as much as the black. I will say it works best when you have a bit more subtle camo print (where the print is has less contrast).

Pants (similar) – Express Mid-rise Camo Print Stretch Jeans – Love these from Express because they come in short, regular and long lengths. Mine are sold out in green, but available in gray still. Size up one size.

Boots Dolce Vita Macie Pointy Toe Boots – I love these. They fit well and didn’t need to be broken in. I wore them all over London, too. They’re not cushiony, but they’re very comfortable. TTS. (More sizes available here)

I’m curious if you’ve tried leopard print shoes or if you’ve shied away from them? What’s your favorite way to style them? I’m thinking with black velvet pants or oxblood cords for the holidays!

  1. Grabbed an amazing leopard pair last fall (actually they are the leopard version of the Topshop ones you recommended- got those too- but in black) and LOVE them especially with camo. My brother actually signed off on that combo and it’s absolutely my new fave!! I have to remind myself to “wear them like a neutral” and just have fun with them. Love this article because they’re such a statement looking shoe we tend to shy away from them because we THINK we won’t be able to wear them much oh wrong I was!!!

  2. Yay! I *love* leopard print shoes! (I’m a redhead and also love that they pretty much match my hair color perfectly.) I have the pattern in ballet flats, statement flats, block high heel, and stiletto high heel so maybe it’s time for me to just go ahead and order the booties … I wear mine with black, navy, and white dresses, this great cream shirt with big black neck bow tucked into skinny jeans, a navy gingham button down tucked into jeans with the cuffs rolled, and with a classic breton striped shirt. (I saw a girl at the mall once rocking her navy stripes with leopard shoes and immediately thought, why didn’t I think of that before??)

  3. I love leopard print shoes and I feel like they elevate any outfit. I have these: https://www.amazon.com/Vans-Unisex-Italian-Shoes-Black-AmberGold/dp/B06X97RL81?th=1&psc=1
I like to wear them with my big plaid blanket scarf and fluffy black coat. I also love leopard with a plaid flannel, dark chambray, or stripes. Besides red, gray or black, I think leopard looks great with dark brown or hunter green. Now I want to experiment more with navy and leopard together!

  4. I love my leopard booties! I bought the Bridget Mod bootie (A New Day from Target) and I’m wearing them with EVERYTHING! They add the perfect amount of fancy to any outfit! I’ve done them with all black, with white jeans and a gray t and cardy, with red and denim, oh the list goes on! Loving all your posts, TME is hands down my fave blog!

  5. Laura, you are my favorite contributer and I love how you styled these booties. I have a pair of similar booties and some camo skinny jeans and you’ve totally inspired me to try paring them together!
