Originally published in December 2014, this post has been updated for Holiday Season 2015. We’re still loving sequin leggings this year, so this article is as relevant as ever. We’ve updated it with all new links, shoppable boutique and even a few new pics. Enjoy!
I’m still loving the sequin leggings. And the GOOD news is that this year they’re available ALL over the place. Last year they were definitely harder to come by but this year they seem to be everywhere. (Along with sequin pants for those of us who’d like a little more room.) I saw this pair at Forever 21 and could not pass up the sparkle. Since I don’t have to worry about nursing at all as much as last year, I can wear the sequins with a soft comfy turtleneck and added burgundy boots for some color. Throw in a feather clutch and you’re festive but still comfy enough to run around after your toddler. (Mine is learning to RUN now . . . should be interesting.)

Burgundy Boots (similar)
Feather Clutch (similar)
**Side note: I’m contemplating getting a tattoo from our friend Dan Pemble, owner of Sacred Tattoo Studio in Marquette. He’s an amazing artist and his shop is a great place to check out if you’re ever in the area . . . if you’re interested in a tattoo, his work is absolutely worth the trip!
How I Wore them Last Year:

The Ore Dock Brewing Company is one of our favorite places to go in our lovely town of Marquette, Michigan. They have a tasty selection of micro-brewed beer, some of the coolest interior design you’ll see, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders and offer live music and events like yoga & beer nights. On top of all that, they have this awesome swing . . . my favorite place to sit and sip my beer. When we go to the Ore Dock I want to look a little glam but I want to be comfortable. Enter sequin leggings. Sequins are always fun and festive for the holidays and leggings are just. So. Comfortable. Put them together, add my favorite Free People sweater and you have a comfy glam look for the holidays.

You ladies have been knocking it out of the park lately with these looks!
Love this! But seriously nosy question. What to wear underneath? This mama needs a bra, and I haven’t found a strapless one yet that can do the job. Any suggestions? Or a future post idea, underpinnings 🙂
Yes, underwear please! Especially with milk boobs, they need more than a little help!
Maybe a pretty bra, with some lace detail that you wouldn’t mind peeking out? That’s what I’d do.
We’re working on a post! For this one, however, I just wore my strapless bra. Since I have a nursing cover, I just fold down the top when Greenlea nurses . . . granted I’m not “blessed” in the chest area . . . I agree with Rachel, though, maybe a bralette-type top that is lacy that you wouldn’t mid poking through? I also wear a long tank underneath sometimes when I want a little more coverage . . . so it totally depends on the look you’re going for! 🙂
This was my question exactly!
I recently invested in nice nursing bras in cute colors and have completely embraced straps showing and the front showing under a V-neck (the style I have looks like a cami in the front). If it’s a color other than nude, it looks intentional and not like a wardrobe malfunction. 😉 Pretty, functional bras are money well spent!
How do the aerie leggings fit? Thinking about getting them. Also do you think they would work for after the holidays?
I’m actually in love with the pair I have . . . I’ve worn them the past two days running errands! They don’t fit like normal leggings . . . I’m usually a medium in leggings so that’s the size I bought. They almost fit a little more like jogger pants? They’re a little baggy . . . I probably could have gone with a small but I really like the way they look. They’re super comfy and can be dressed down. They say the color is “true black,” but they’re more like a dark navy . . . I wore them with an oversize grey sweater one day and a graphic t with a hoodie the other day. The bottoms are looser . . . unlike most leggings . . . hope this helps! (plus you can’t beat the sale price!)
It does , thank you!
As Scotti’s mom, I can corroborate the fact that she indeed has worn these over the last couple of days and finds them so comfortable. She wants to buy me a pair . . .
I passed up the opportunity to buy sequined pants last year at a serious discount. I am so regretting it now!
