Here we are, several months later, and my favorite white ankle boots are still going strong. Because they’re a newer trend, I do find them trickier to wear than my old standbys, the black ankle bootie, but they add a freshness to an outfit that I can’t get enough of. One styling trick I’ve been using is this simple formula:
white boots + black skinnies + something tan
The black-and-tan combo is a classic that feels modern again, and the tan nicely bridges the gap between the glaringly white booties and darker pieces.
Outfit 1 – Try Tan Leather
I’m just going for leather trim on a puffer BECAUSE IT’S FREEZING HERE, but a moto jacket in a pretty brown, camel or tan would also work. Or try pairing white ankle booties with Madewell’s new drawstring bag and call it a day. Perfection.

coat : LOLЁ – I sized up to a small so I could fit sweaters under it. Lole is almost sold out, but it’s also available at Moosejaw
jeans: Rag & Bone (size 24 for reference)
boots: Dolce Vita
Outfit 2 – Soft and Cozy Camel
Any sort of cozy camel piece would work. I just pulled out an old Theory topper and my new ‘Motherlover’ sweater (a gift from the TME team). Love this thing – blush and oxblood is another fav color combo.

Shop Camel Coziness
Here are a few other pieces in this hero color that look pretty cozy for Jan/Feb. They’d be perfect with black skinnies and white boots (or sneaks).

Ooh, that puffer! Love the contrast detail.
I just can’t with the white boots! It breaks up everything but in a distracting way that’s not positive.
I’m not buying this trend either.
Yeah, I can’t get into this trend either. . .every time I see white ankle boots. . .cue the Pee Wee Herman dance scene in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. . . .
I’m not jumping on this one, either. And now I can’t un-see Pee-Wee and have “Tequila” stuck in my head.
Every time I see that puffer jacket I love it! I don’t have white boots, but I did just buy some black and tan Nike high-tops, so I might flip this whole concept around when I go out tonight and pair them with white jeans and a black top/coat…
How do you keep the boots clean? Seems impossible, especially with winter snow, slush, and salt.
I like the white boot look, at least on Shana. Don‘t think I will be buying any for myself though.
I recently discovered Lole, accidentally while shopping for a winter coat. I only picked it up because it was on the sale rack, but tried it on and LOVED it – a long puffer style. I bought it and, based on my stalking of their website, will likely be buying more Lole in the future!
