Don’t Save Your Party Shoes for the Party

I’m sure by now most have you have heard of “Spark Joy” by Marie Kondo. In a nutshell, she urges us to keep belongings that “spark joy” and toss (donate) those that don’t. Well, these shoes? These shoes spark joy. They spark mad joy. Like omg-I-love-these-shoes-and-never-want-to-take-them-off joy. Are they practical? Hell, no. Are they my favorites? YAAAS. Which brought up an interesting discussion at one of our recent TME meetings. What do you do with all of your fancy party shoes that sit in your closet, taking up space? Do you save them for special occasions? I mean, most of us said yes, including myself, but Shana was like, “NO! Wear those things!” It’s like that saying Life is short, use the good china. Why wait around for a special reason when we can be sparking joy just by wearing shoes that make us happy?

On that note though, although these shoes are definitely my favorites because they’re so sparkly, they can’t realistically be worn for much longer than a few hours. SO . . . in honor of my total fascination with all things sparkly, along with my desire to keep things comfy, I rounded up a bunch of fancy shoes in three different heel heights. Because sometimes you can wear the sky-high stilettos and sometimes you just can’t. (I was actually surprised by how many gorgeous flats I found, too.)
