You guys. We got a new backyard recently, meaning, our backyard needed a major facelift and it’s now refinished and ready for play! We had a gorgeous sunny Sunday, so Sienna and I got out and had a blast. There were good intentions of playing in the water table (hence the swimwear), but in true toddler fashion it was soon dumped over and we were on to handstands and cartwheels in the new grass. And running in circles. After a long winter with a dumpy, muddy, dandelion-filled back yard, we could not be happier with our upgrade. Truly. They literally graded the yard (apparently we have enormous moles in Portland, plus rain, so they leveled it out and made it safe to walk on).

Ok.

I’ll stop talking about landscaping….but I’ll just say we are happy.

Marimekko. Yes! I had to run into Target for nighttime pull-ups real quick like on Sunday and yay! Marimekko as soon as I walked in. The patterns…they make this graphic designer’s heart beat fast, especially this gorgeous bright pattern on the toddler rash guard. Love. Also? The bottoms are reversible. Adorbs.

Sienna is wearing a 2T even though she’s almost three. She’s a petite almost-3-year-old though, so it works. The bottoms seem a bit big, even if the shirt is almost a belly shirt, but I don’t care because toddler. Bellies. Are adorable.

My new workout regimen: Swing the toddler back and forth, then carry the ever-emotional 30+lb toddler around when she melts down, finally chase after the toddler to keep her from running into the street. Repeat 10 times daily. Yeah! Whew.

My Outfit Details:

Sweater: Gap Cotton Stripe Essential V Neck Sweater – I adore the weight and drape of this. It’s perfect for spring and into summer it’ll be amazing over a swimsuit later in the day.

Shorts: Rag and Bone “The Cutoff” Denim Shorts – More on these later, but OMG. They are so good. Longer in back and the perfect wash! I tried on a bunch. Stay tuned for all the love of these.

Sandals: Birkenstock Mayari Sandal – I got these last summer. LOVE. I adore some of the updated Birkenstock styles. They literally last forever and mold to your foot. I’ve been a fan for a long time. Still loving them.

 On Sienna:

Swimsuit: Marimekko for Target Rashguard Set Kukkatori Print – Adore it. I would say it runs true to size. The bottoms are a little big on S but thinking it’s because a 2T may still allow for room for a swim diaper underneath.

Sunnies: Babiators – Love these and you’ve seen them before. They fit well and she will actually leave them on for a while. Score.

Boots: Bogs Toddler Classics – She did have cute sandals on, but mulch. It called for the good ‘ol rain boots. Bogs are our go-to and are so easy to walk and run in for little ones since they are lighter than the stiff rubber rain boots.

My Marrimeko Favorites

Everyday is exhausting right now, as I’m sure any mamas-of-three-year-olds can attest to, but everyday is also hilarious, fun, cuddly, and now bright and sunny for a bit. I do love this motherhood thing and even though I may be amazed at how tired I am every evening, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Not one single bit.
