7 Days of Outfits, 1 White Tee

If you saw my last post, I created a winter capsule wardrobe that included this basic white tee. I never truly realized how essential a white t-shirt is to my closet until I put a list together and came up with a week’s worth of outfits. Seven days with ONE shirt? (Or maybe, get two really good white tees and alternate between washes…still clean AND sustainable here, everyone.)

A Week Of Outfit Ideas: 1 T-Shirt, 7 Ways

Outfit #1: For Exploring the City

I could never figure out how to make a t-shirt under something look cute until I started working at TME. I love silky tanks, but I’m a bigger fan of tees, so combining the two was like a match made in heaven for me. I decided to take it up a notch and replace the tank with a silky dress. Because I don’t have many places to wear a fancy silk dress, I wanted to keep it casual and true to my personal style by adding the leather jacket, docs, hoop earrings and a bright blue eyeliner for a little bit of fun. The furry cheetah print purse was just an added bonus piece because I, along with many other people, am still obsessing over animal prints. Crossing my fingers it never goes out of style.

Outfit #2: For Saturday Family Time

Because of my neutral tendencies, I’d maybe make a power move and wear a silver metallic puffer instead. This one I found is amazing. Pairing it with jeans, sneaks and a simple white tee makes it more wearable for every day. I’ve been loving scrunchies for my hair at the moment, because it’s just a little more interesting than a plain hair tie.

Outfit #3: For a Night Out

A tee under a silk cami always reminds me of S. It’s classic and simple, but still has a lot of interest with the layers (and, in this instance, a touch of red.) I may preach about loving neutrals, but I love a good pop of red. If the red jacket is too bright, switch out the black booties for red ones to match those crazy earrings (that I kindaaa love…) and wear a simple black leather jacket. Also — can we talk about how cool those jeans are?? Interesting denim makes everything better.

Outfit #4: For Cozy Weekending

An outfit that feels like pjs but doesn’t look like pjs? I’m in. I went a little spring/summer with this outfit, but if you add a heavy knit blanket scarf and a pom-pom beanie, it may be warm enough for winter with the knitted pants. I personally love the idea of mixing in that summery basket bag with a colder-weather outfit. Accessories are the best way to bring color and summer fun into the dreary winter. This one’s for you warm-weather-fashion lovers.

Outfit #5: For the Office

Maybe your office isn’t t-shirt appropriate, but tell me this doesn’t still look dressed up enough considering its a plain white tee. Standing out from the crowd in workwear can sometimes be pretty difficult. Add some color to your heels with a pop of blue and try out some patterned hair ties to make it more you. Finish with your favorite colored lippie for even more interest and fun! Something tells me if Audrey Hepburn was an office-working-gal in 2020, she’d wear something a little bit like this. A look that says feminine and in charge. That’s what we like to see!

Outfit #6: For Running Errands

Yes, army green is a neutral. It’s just a thing now. Army green bombers? Amazing. I typically like to wear my bombers with a bit more of a streetwear/athleisure look — sneaks, leggings and a beanie. If I’m not wearing it with that, you’ll see me wearing it with a plain (or graphic) tee, jeans and boots like the outfit below. Because it’s simple, adding a flared jean and chunky boots makes it a whole lot more interesting. This is my running errands in the city look, hence the tote bag. Just add your go-to accessories, and you’re out the door!

Outfit #7: For Working Out

Okay, I may say a lot of things are my favorite, but athleisure is my realistic, what-I-look-like-every-single-day favorite outfit combo. I just always somehow end up dressed in it. It’s like trying without really trying. The black and white makes it look sleek and put-together without totally looking like you’re going to the gym. (Although, you definitely could wear this to the gym if you add in your athletic sneakers.)

  1. Love everything about this post especially because I wear a white T almost every day and layer it up with a blouse or sweater. I am always cold 🙂

  2. I had to check to see if you were a new author as this and your last post are two of the best that I have seen on here. I’ve lost interest in this site for a while but I’ll be checking more regularly now!
