One of my very favorite Mother’s Day traditions is, uh, shopping for mahself. The boys in my life (big and small) have our fancy breakfast-in-bed formula down to perfection (and yes, I still get homemade cards or art with it), but there is something deeply delicious about giving myself the mental permission to just…browse. Leisurely. And maybe splurge on a lil’ something.
If you want more ideas beyond my own personal obsessions, here’s Scotti’s wishlist – her style is different from mine (yet I always end up adding half her picks to my own cart). Plus we pulled together a whole Mother’s Day shop full of seriously cool, unique gifts from small businesses we love.
The Coolest Mother’s Day Gift Ideas For 2026 (Says Me)
Here’s my own personal Mother’s Day wish list for 2026. Some of these I’ll buy for myself, and some…I’ll just leave open on my laptop. In case anyone (*cough*Mike*cough) is curious.

1. Polka Dot Stretch Bath Towel
Hear me out: These Typical Towels are soft and fluffy heavyweight towels (OEKO-TEX certified, wash + dry really well), with one crucial difference from all others: they stretch. Which means these towels actually stay put when wrapped around my body (or hair). They’re actually gorgeous, too (both the polka dot and stripe are reversible), and it’s the rare “practical gift” that also looks great hanging in a bathroom. Not only do I want a whole set for myself…but I’m also going to snag some as a graduation gift for Raines, too (sob!).
2. Statement Flower ‘Clare’ Earrings
I love a good statement earring, but they’ve gotta be really light or they’ll drive me crazy. I’ve been wearing the heck outta these earrings (by the same Madrid-based designer), so I knew this lighter (and bigger!) pair would still be an easy win. The white (with light blue stripes) is actually a little casual in person, despite the dramatic shape. They’re soooo fun and playful.
3. Cuyana Travel Case Set
MikeD bought me this exact Cuyana travel case set last Christmas (in ‘burnt orange’) and filled the smaller pouch with all of the tech goodies (chargers, cables, etc) I use. It remains the one of my all-time favorite gifts (and I’ve even used the larger size as a clutch while traveling). This deep, ocean-blue color is unreal – love it so much.
4. Sobremesa Candle
This Sobremesa candle (just restocked!!) is named for a Spanish word for the time spent lingering at the table after a meal — basically, my favorite part of any dinner – the contentment, the laughter, the lounging back, maybe sipping wine – it’s this unhurried part I treasure. It doesn’t hurt that this candle smells like a summer garden, too. Think: basil, garden mint, tomato vine. It’s a natural wax blend, phthalate-free, and comes with the most gorgeous set of wooden matches and a walnut dust cover. We hunted this one down at a trade show and it stopped us cold.
5. Mother Shrub Carrot Thyme Mixer
This mocktail mixer is SO delicious. Perfect for anyone who is bored with the same old sparking water (or for anyone trying to cut back on alcohol), I highly recommend this mix-in. The brand is run by a fellow mom, who spent eons perfecting her Grandmother’s recipe. Love, love, love.
6. Handmade Pewter Heart Coffee Scoop
This handmade pewter coffee scoop brings me so much joy (full disclosure, I already own it) – it makes scooping collagen into my coffee such a sweet little morning routine.
7. Mahjong Gift Set
How pretty is this Mahjong set??!! I became obsessed with Mahjong Solitaire on our last overseas flight, and now I’m dedicated to learning the real game. Especially when the set is this stunning – it belongs on a coffee table, even when we’re not playing. Wow.
8. Rest Your Eyes Eye Towels
Abby and I both are obsessed with this relaxing, aromatherapy at-your-desk eye towel set (I plan to throw them in my laptop bag as well as my travel case) – they really are such a nice (quick!!) moment. (We are planning to restock these, hopefully before Mother’s Day!)
9. Clare V Grand Fanny Belt Bag
The Grand Fanny is one of my most-used styles from Clare V, and I appreciate that I’ve both stuffed it with dog treats and poop bags to walk the puppers (haha), aaaaaand worn it in Europe. Truly versatile, and the new ‘plummy rattan’ color made my jaw drop.
10. Freda Salvador Fisherman Sandals With Turquoise Studs
Freda Salvador’s Fisherman sandals are of the most comfortable sandal styles I’ve ever worn…this colorway (basically polka-dotted sandals) is especially playful and makes my heart beat fast. They are bananas good.
11. A Luxe Lip Serum Kit
Oh, baby, this luxe lip serum kit is amazing. Lip serums are such a thing, and I’m totally in. Especially when this one (plumping!!) really works (without sting!!), and comes in the cutest, plastic-free kit that also contains a lip scrub that smells exactly like wild strawberries and a really lovely lip butter in…wait for it…champagne. (This whole line is made by a mother-and-daughter duo based in Colorado, too. It’s fantastic.) And if you’re wondering what, exactly, the champagne lip butter smells like…it’s vaguely mango, and I’m obsessed.
12. Alohas Sneakers (in light blue)
Alohas are my favorite sneakers right now. I have them in a dark pink (actually, they’re super similar to that Clare V ‘plummy rattan’) that I wear alllll the time. I’d love a lighter colorway, and this light blue is stunning. I’m especially excited to pair it with some light wash jeans (and maybe those statement floral earrings!).
13. The Best Suitcase: Away Suitcase, In Medium Flex
Away, medium flex suitcases are my favorites. And I’ve spent the last year or so researching (and testing) suitcases to find which one is the best, and – spoiler: Away won. I’m planning to shoot a whole YouTube video on the results, so consider this a sneak peek. 🙂
