16 Cool Gifts For Her

2

Hey-o. Gifting season. I love it so much. This year with a lot of changes to my life I’m behind on my game, but now that we’re getting into this time of year I am feeling all the excitement. Of course as a designer-type (graphic designer was my former career) I’m always on the hunt for cool products and clothing that help me express my style.

Over the years it’s been a blast to curate that style and try things out and dip my toe into trends and then…come back to what I always wind up loving…sporty graphics and cozy sweaters + classic boots, coats and accessories in the seasons best shades + pretty, eclectic finds for my home.

16 Cool and Unique Christmas Gifts For Her

It’s so fun to make a wishlist. It’s so fun to pick out things that feel really ‘my vibe’ and I hope some of these resonate with you, too. Maybe send this to a partner or someone who doesn’t know what to get you and give them the not-so-subtle hint.

ps. For those of you already in shopping mode, our gift guides have already started rolling out (10 Gifts I’m Excited To Give This Season + Luxurious Gifts For Her are live!) AND our Early Black Friday Cheat Sheet can be found here. And, of course, our very favorite gifts can be found in Our Shop. More to come…

Maybe that’s why my former partner and I didn’t ultimately work out. I literally wrote articles about what I’d like for the holidays and published them online, yet he often still missed the mark. Lol. Obviously it was much more than that but lordy, as we say in the South. This year, has been a lot, all around, in so many heartbreaking ways. Let’s have some fun with perusing cool shit online for a moment right now, k? Solidarity.

1 | Madewell Double Breasted Boxy Coat in Houndstooth

Woman wearing a houndstooth double-breasted coat from Madewell — classic 90s-inspired winter style.

Coat

The picture in the above collage got me wishing for this houndstooth coat, too. What a perfect combination it is with the pretty sweater above. Madewell jackets and coats have been favorites for years and this is no exception. It brings in a touch of 90’s vibes while still wearing as a classic piece. Love the cut of it, too.

2 | The Mom Edit Shop Cordelia Earrings

Close-up of gold Cordelia earrings — minimalist, elegant jewelry perfect for holiday gifting.

Earrings

These earrings from The Mom Edit Shop are just so incredibly lovely for the holidays and beyond. They are the type of earring I always gravitate towards because they feel special without feeling too overwhelming or too statement making. As a glasses wearer I just shy away from anything too big but these are perfection.

3 | anthropologie Friday Feeling Y’all Trucker Hat

Trucker hat with “Friday Feeling Y’all” text — fun Southern-inspired accessory from Anthropologie.

Hat

You can take the girl out of the South…

4 | Madewell Mini Belted Crossbody Bag

Chocolate brown Madewell crossbody bag with belted detail — perfect fall/winter accessory.

Bag (and at Nordstrom)

I need a pretty fall/winter chocolate brown bag and this is it. It’s a perfect size and so cute but not tiny and just luxe looking at a still reasonable price. Madewell does bags SO well.

5 | Madewell Marled Cable Knit Sweater

Classic marled cable knit sweater from Madewell — cozy neutral knit for winter layering.

Sweater

Be still my heart. I saw this an immediately wanted it. It’s the perfect combination of classic cables with a hint of sexy cutouts (if you choose to highlight) and wearable year after year. Merino wool/poly blend so it’ll be warm without being too hot and will hold its shape with wear. Click through to see it closer. SO good. Madewell, I’m back with ya baby.

6 | Maison Margiela Replica By The Fireside Fragrance

Maison Margiela “By the Fireplace” perfume bottle — warm, smoky, cozy fragrance for winter.

Fragrance

This is the warmest, coziest scent if you like a little bit of smoky and a tiiiiiny bit of sweetness. It’s so good. I will wear it forever.

7 | Free People Studio Resin Ring

Set of colorful resin rings from Free People — playful statement jewelry pieces.

Rings

These are so fun and I’m addicted to rings so why not keep adding to my collection. They’d add a nice little pop to any outfit.

7 | anthropologie Ginko Leaf Tie-back

Gold ginkgo leaf curtain tie-backs — elegant botanical accent from Anthropologie.

Similar Tie-back

Really wish Anthro had chosen a prettier curtain here but alas, these will look lovely on my white curtains on the back sliding glass door. I’m making little upgrades like this to my duplex and they make me so happy.

9 | Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

Jar of Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream — clean, hydrating skincare essential.

Cream

I’ve said this for years, but this is the best moisturizer there is. It actually absorbs into my skin (I love some face oils but that’s the only problem with them…they take forever to absorb) I will forever have this and I’m getting a little low. Hoping for sales, but it’s worth the price even if it’s not on sale.

10 | Free City Sweatpants

Free City sweatpants — soft, slim-fit joggers with graphic details for casual cool style

Sweatpants (also Shopbop)

I freaking love these silly sweatpants so much and the pair I have I’ve been living in. I want a darker pair to wear out and about (mine are purple that I’ve had for years.) They run a little slim, so size up if you want a baggier fit. The waist has a drawstring though so there’s some give there. This may just be this gift I get myself this year because I love them so much and have for years. The fit is just perfect and the graphic and the details…cost per wear is down to pennies for me at this point.

Coach gold chain link bracelet — modern, minimal jewelry piece for everyday wear.

Bracelet

I need to upgrade my bracelet stack with higher quality pieces. This is the start. Love.

12 | Free People New York City Sweatshirt

Free People New York City sweatshirt — vintage-inspired graphic pullover in white or black.

Sweatshirt

I don’t know if I like the white or the black better, but I love the styling above and I love this sweatshirt. The retro graphic is perfect and I always want an NYC sweatshirt in my closet (and Free People’s are always cotton and so good and not too heavy for layering.)

13 | Free People Fallon Fringe Mule

Chocolate brown fringe mules from Free People — cozy slip-on shoes with boho flair.

Slides

I love some of the lower profile Uggs this year, but I think I like these chocolate brown fringed slides even better. Someone just find me a forest cabin and a fireplace…

14 | BaubleBar x Anthropologie Pasta Ornaments

Set of BaubleBar x Anthropologie pasta ornaments — whimsical foodie holiday decorations.

Ornaments (sold out, here are some more fun ones)

As a foodie for life and a fan of pretty but eccentric holiday décor, these. I want all four but if I had to choose one…I mean, it would be bowtie (farfalle if we’re being correct and we are, when it comes to food.) But that tiny spaghetti on a fork…gah. That one. Ok, all four.

15 | Madewell Idris Leather Ankle Boot

Madewell Idris leather ankle boots — classic rocker-chic black ankle boots for fall and winter.

Boots (low stock, so here’s a similar pair)

This style is just classic rocker-chic and I will always love them with slim black ankle pants and jeans. Forever. I don’t know why I don’t have them in my closet right now but that will soon be fixed.

16 | The Mom Edit Shop Cashmere Beanie

Soft cashmere beanie from The Mom Edit Shop — luxe winter accessory in neutral tones.

Beanies

Cashmere beanies are the most luxurious thing to put on your head in the winter and ours are so freaking lovely. Shana-approved (and she is super sensitive.) Check out our shop for more.

Happy ‘gifting and wishlist making and time with family and friends and good food and sparkly lights’ season, friends. Love y’all.

  1. Laura, I just read this line out loud to MikeD, “Maybe that’s why my former partner and I didn’t ultimately work out. I literally wrote articles about what I’d like for the holidays and published them online, yet he often still missed the mark. Lol. ” We. Are. DYING!!!! It is a phenomenon that exactly zero of the TME husbands work off of our gift guides. Why, guys, why??? It’s…literally….right…here….

Love you girl. Thanks for the giggle – MikeD is TAKING NOTE, haha.
