What to Throw On Right Now: Moto Leggings + Neoprene Sneaks

You know when it’s just one of “those” days?  For me…”thooooose” days happen way more often than normal days, so la de daaaa. Leggings to the rescue!

You might remember my old post on Leggings as Pants (oh, yes). Well, here I am again to wax poetic about…LEGGINGS, my friends.

Not just any leggings, because yeh…sure. A basic pair of black leggings are fine, but they’re nothing to get excited about. Moto leggings is what I am talking about. Yep, I know. As if we all needed another reason to pretend leggings are acceptable for every day wear outside of the house. They have saved me on many occasions, though, when I have realized not a thread of denim is clean and I am late for pick-up. Many…many occasions. In fact, I’m sure the other moms at my son’s preschool think it’s gotta be one of the only articles of clothing I own.

Hey, it’s me…little old fashion blogger, Cams!

heh.

I do try, but crap. Raising three kids is honestly like being a zookeeper (with no other zoo people to help wrangle the beasts). Some days I grab those moto leggings and I work those leggings LIKE A MOTHER BLEEPING BOSS LADY.

You do what ya gotta.

Also, ummm. Neoprene sneakers? Hellooooo. I needed you and then there you were. You are the perfect addition to my lazy (but cool!) mom outfit.

Seriously. They are really rad…and comfy, too. I highly recommend giving them a go.

sweater: Longline Cardigan (comes in several colors) – if you saw my other recent post, you saw this cardigan styled with a bit more dressy of an ensemble. It’s my favorite thing right now, to grab and go. It is one size fits all…which is weird. Not my favorite thing when clothing is sized this way, but it’s worth a try. It’s cozy and the chunky and cute.

top: Free People Split Back Turtleneck (TTS) – a great top for everyday. I usually wear it with my favorite worn-in denim and booties.

leggings: BP. moto leggings (TTS & currently on sale for $26!) – my FAVORITES for everyday. They also come in black.

sneaks: Steve Madden Fashion Sneakers (TTS) – something a little different from the normal athletic sneakers. This one is more for real (not working out) outfits. I love them! They also come in a few different colors, which are all equally as cool.

bag: Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack

Note: If I could make only one adjustment to this whole outfit it would be my top –  it was a tad too short. I thought it was longer…or something? When I was getting dressed (in a hurry, as usual) that morning I just said whatever, it’s totally long enough and moved on. NOPE. In my defense, I thought it was more of a tunic style and if it weren’t for my being 10 feet tall, it would have covered my nether regions a bit better. In fact, I think I remember S telling me that it hit her right above her knees. Her KNEES. Anyways, I should have worn this long, tunic top instead, but ya know. It probably wasn’t clean and…

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. amiright?

Cheers,

Cams

  1. I continue to like you and your posts. I spent an embarrassing number of hours online last weekend looking for the perfect moto leggings/pants, bc I am NOT tall, and leggings always make me feel like I’m sick or not fully dressed and after the last baby I all but swore not to wear them again, and once Shana mentioned that we were all tired of skinnies and knee boots I realized I AM, and…uh, where was I? Oh yes. I began with your BP recommendation then went on a fruitless search on the entire internet for low-rise, stretchy-but-pants-like leggings/jeggings maybe with pockets? and also thick bc it’s cold here but not pleather bc my curves do NOT go there… if anyone comes across any such magic, please share!

  2. I love these pants and went on the site to buy both the black and green–but your pants in this post look different than the pic on Nordstroms site? It looks like yours have a seem down the calf? Which looks amazing on you because you are so small but on my more eh athletic calves –the seem always looks weird.

  3. I just got the BP one and wanted to love them but they are very thin. I felt like they would be see thru on my bum so I’m sending them back. I really wanted them to work out because I loved the style and color but they weren’t flattering.
