Is anyone else feeling totally overwhelmed by Black Friday deals?  The energy feels frenetic, rather than typical holiday excitement.  And I found myself drowning in "75% off until 10AM, 60% until 3PM" or "20% off your $150 purchase, 35% off your $300…"

OMG STOP.

So I latched onto Anthropologie's very straight-forward Black Friday promotion:  20% off everything, no code needed.  (The discount will be reflected upon checkout.)

But since it's Black Friday, I feel like we should really be getting a deal, not just 20% off.  So I searched Anthro's sale rack.  And Mamas?  It's good. And now an additional 20% off.

Warning:  The widget I'm using to display isn't always showing the marked down price.  You'll have to click through for the sale price.

Sweaters and Tops

I just bought the first two sweaters listed (the short-sleeve one and the brightly colored stripes).  In both instances, you can play pretty fast-and-loose with sizing.  I tried on a couple different sizes in each, and barely noticed a difference.

(NOTE:  I picked them up in-store…ended up with a L in the short-sleeve, but I was picking between L and XL.  In the stripes I came home with a small.)

Dresses and Skirts

A perfectly ladylike dress in badass black leather (OMG WANT), a flirty orange holiday dress that makes nursing a cinch, a shimmery pooch-hider, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous skirt, and a shift dress that appeals to my minimalist tendencies (I'd wear with a turtleneck, tights and boots).

Annoyingly, most of the prices shown are the original, not the sale price.

Jeans and Boots

Am loving the perfectly faded and artfully distressed black jeans, boyfriend jeans in a surprising dark wash, and a jeans that get the lightwash, faded thing right.    Also?  Wait until you see the boots.  Sofreakingcool.

Again, mostly original prices shown. Sigh.

Happy shopping, Mamas!  And let me know what you think of this format.  I don't love the fact that the correct prices aren't reflected, but WOW this saves me a ton of time.

xo,

  1. Thanks for the ideas! Just to give some feedback – the new widget format doesn’t work great on my iPhone email, which is where I normally read from. I couldn’t see all the choices, and couldn’t see the full names. Also, the pictures were too small to tell what things looked like. When I clicked thru to the website, it was fine. Hope that helps. Happy Black Friday!

  2. Just to let you know…no pictures or links show up at all for me. I’m on a Mac with Safari and also AdBlock – maybe that’s why? Too bad, since I’m all for making blogging easier for busy mamas!

  3. I’m on a PC and think the pics are still too small for my taste. I feel like I need to click through on each to really see what it looks like.

  4. Hey there! Thank you so much for the post. I did feel very overwhelmed during Black Friday when it came to find stylish pieces while still getting great savings. I have finally decided to update my look even though I am not at my goal weight. I don’t want to spend a lot of money because I am still hoping to lose at least 20 pounds and don’t have the budget to constantly update my wardrobe. Unfortunately I missed your great tips for Black Friday, but can now apply them today, Cyber Monday. Thanks a lot .. I look forward to reading more of your posts!
