I’ve been wearing the heck out of the Livy maxi dress this summer. The Livy, if you recall, is our special collaboration with NINO Brand, a local Philly designer. We challenged Bela to turn one of her insanely amazing creations (a top that turns into this maxi dress) into something more affordable….while keeping the durability and machine-washability. (NOTE: I throw mine in the dryer, too.)
If you’ve yet to watch the video to see it transform, it’s pretty incredible. You can find out more about the Livy in this article, where I noted it as one of the best clothes for traveling….or see the original dress it was patterned after, in this one.
However. Many of you asked to see it in gray. The gray is beautiful. The fabric is super soft and details like the side-stripe really pop out. This was my go-to dress for date night at the shore last month.
Outfit Details
dress: NINOBrand X The Mom Edit special collab, the Livy (wearing a size 1, for reference)
shoes: ancient wedges – this pair by 1.state has a similar vibe, as does this Hinge block-heel
accessories: chan luu wrap bracelet | chan luu pearl and leather bracelet | rebecca minkoff bucket bag | white ray-bans
And many of you have asked to see this dress on different body types, especially my sister, Scotti. Well….I’m home right now, and have brought a few Livy dresses with me, so stay tuned. (And if any of you have a photo of yourself in the Livy dress, we’d love to see it! Throw it on IG with the hashtag #themomeditstyle to shoot me an email: shana@themomedit.com).

Yes, the article I was looking for. Your article gives me another approach on the subject. I hope to read more articles from you.

Love the dress and Stone Harbor!
Beautiful dress, but it looks like the fabric shows every lump and bump. Shana can pull it off, but for most people, the black would be much more flattering.
My sister in law shared the Mom Edit with me recently. I am completely OBSESSED! I wanted the Marc Jacobs rainbow backpack, but I was on vacation when it went on sale…needless to say, when I got back, it was gone! Lesson definitely learned!!
Also, I love how you post the actual clothes+site+alternative! You know moms don’t have time to search all day for something they see.
Thank you greatly!
I adore your style!!
