Sunday’s #MyEverydayEdit

(free people tee)

Hey there!  We’re finally back from Denver and settling back into Philly life.  We had the most amazing time skiing with the boys.  I’ll put together a little trip report at some point.  Anyway, I’ve been remiss in the #myeverydayedit category.  If you are new here, #myeverydayedit is an Instagram hashtag we use to tag what we’re actually wearing everyday.  It doesn’t have to be fancy or special, just….easy.  So yeah – if you follow me on Instagram (@shanachristine), none of these will be new, but if you’d like to join in on the fun, all are welcome.  Always.

A Pretty Bra For The Win

I swear, I use pretty bras more than statement necklaces.  They just are the best thing to take your cozy pieces to the next level.

bra: Free People (this one doesn’t stretch as much – should’ve gone up a size)  Also in a zillion colors (and more sizes) here.

shirt: Free People

jeans: old Rag and Bone (these are similar)

Overalls And Overall Crazy

This was a tough week for some reason, which explains my face.  Also, if you follow me on Instagram, I posted a full pic of Pax’s outfit.

overalls: Paige Tavie Overalls – both in regular sizes or petite (And on major sale!)

teeStateside (xs – it runs big)

bra:  Free People

shoes:  Sorel Wedge Boots (now 40% off!!!! – The entire TME staff has written odes to these boots (here’s mine) – if you haven’t yet splurged, we REALLY suggest you do so now.  You will love us next winter.  Promise.)

necklace: old Chan Luu – I have been trying for years to find this necklace again, to no avail.  So instead, here’s my latest Chan Luu obsession.  Turquoise, gold and white, and just edge enough.  Picture it with a simple white tee and cut-offs this summer.  Add a tan bag.  Done.

Actually, I couldn’t resist posting Pax here as well:

cashmere hoodie c/o | similar Dino shirt  | Heart Leggings | Boots

DYING.  Pax makes a serious commitment to mixed prints.

More Overalls

(I’m starting to sound like Laura, haha.)  Anyway, I’ve mentioned these black, flared overalls before.  For some reason they feel more….sophisticated?  than the regular kind?  In any case, I find myself reaching for them over and over.

psst.  Someone asked about my beauty products to get such flawless skin.  My secret?  INSTAGRAM FILTERS.  (haha)

michigan tees: Michigan Awesome  (where Mike and I grew up)

sweater: Chunky Cashmere Sweater c/o Amazon Fashion

overalls: Paige Tavie Overalls – both in regular sizes or petite (And on major sale!)

shoes:  Sorel Wedge Boots

The Outfit I Wore For a Hot Second

The thing I like best about the #myeverydayedit series is that the bar is set really low.  Did you get dressed up for school drop-off?  Show it off!  It matters not that you immediately changed into sweatpants once you came back home. *cough*cough*

The Mom Edit_February 9 2016-52

turtleneck: The Motivator c/o (these fit longer than usual – if you are under 5’2″, you might have a problem with where the clasp hits.  Tall girls, however, go nuts.)

tee: Madewell tee (size S)

jeans: Seven for All Mankind Skinny Girlfriend Jeans c/o Amazon Fashion (size down – I’m in a 24)

Lounge. Or Workout.  (Whatever)

I wear this more than I’d like to admit.  (Also, these pants sell out whenever they’re restocked, so I tried to find similar pairs.)

hoodie: Nike Gym Vintage Hoodie (wearing an xs)

running tights:  Lululemon – the closest they have now are these.  I rounded up a few other similar options below:

YOUR #MyEveryDayEdit!

Here are a few pics from the #myeverydayedit Instagram community that caught my eye.

Soft Spring Neutrals

As these pictures show, I’m not the only one subtly lightening up for Spring.

Clockwise, Top Left:

1.  @cbdesignsshop makes me want to run out and purchase a pair of skinny cargo pants.  Like these or these.

2. @madabymada shows how flattering high-rise jeans and a simple fitted sweater can be.  Her trick?  TUCK IT IN.  Well done.

3. @cbdesignsshop also rocks rainboots in a way I’d be willing to copy.  The key?  Distressed jeans, and and unexpected pop of burgundy.  Of course, stripes and a pretty, gray scarf never hurt, either.  I’m copying this one.

4. @maydecember_  beautifully demonstrates how gray and taupe can lighten up your existing go-to uniform for Spring.  (Her entire account is beautiful.)

Beyond Basic

Whether it’s a printed top or statement shoes, we’re all starting to move waaayyy beyond basic.

Clockwise, Top Left:

1. @momlifeandstyle nails the whole 70’s fab look with her printed top and flares. On point.

2. @encapsulated_me has the most perfect everyday uniform:  easy blouse, boyfriend jeans and pretty flats.   Love the man-watch as an accessory, too.  (If you are on the hunt for a shirt like hers, try this one.)

3. @ruthyannie‘s outfit only appears simple – the cool fringe detail and patched jeans take it to the next level.  To recreate, try this fringe-sleeve sweater on sale at Banana, and these amazing Rag and Bone patch jeans.

4. @glfleck wows with mixed prints.  To copy, I’d pair this Madewell top with these shoes.

And Finally….The Two Best Depictions of Mom Life

Having just travled myselft, I could totally relate to @romanreboot‘s shot of her brood:

Nor could I resist @elizabethkatherinegrace‘s mixed prints and epic photobomb:

High-freaking five.  Here’s to keeping it real.
