One Top Two Ways: Office – To – Party

If there’s one thing I loooove doing, it’s establishing some sort of…uniform, or sartorial formula…and then iterating on it.  It helps to clear my head, and allows me to get dressed and out the door – regardless of event – with *most* of my marbles still intact.

And during this insanely busy time, the marbles…well.  They’re dwindling.

So.  My marble-preservation outfit theme, for this season, is this:

high-rise flares + dramatic top

I’ve talked about this before, but here’s a few more iterations featuring a seriously drool-worthy top.  It’s conservative enough for the office (especially with an interesting, nubby sweater), yet has fun/dramatic details, making it perfect for a party.

Shop More Day-To-Night Blouses

Because I wouldn’t be called ‘the shopping enabler’ if I missed an opportunity to round up a few additional options…..

Quick note:  Some of these blouses would obviously need a cami to be work appropriate.

Enjoy!

A huge thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!  I’m always thrilled to figure out new ways to riff on a theme.  And readers, thank you so much for your support!  It doesn’t go unnoticed and it’s so very much appreciated.

  1. Shana, will you do a roundup of Victorian-inspired blouses, please? I actually have the Ellen Tracy one you featured here on order already, but they’re sold out of my usual size and I’m afraid the size up will be too big. I haven’t been able to find anything else like it!

      • Yes!! That was my plan this Fall – they were all over the runways but really sloooow to show up in stores. Am hoping this Spring will yield more options. The two in the above shopping widget are literally the only two I’ve found for less than $400. But more are coming, I suspect.

    • Haha!! Sort of. 🙂 This one was so nubby it was almost like a faux fur. (At least that’s how I’ve been thinking about it, LOL)

  2. I love these tops! I tend to wear a cute/fun/interesting top to dress up my otherwise boring office wear, and these are just perfect for that. Thank you!

  3. Hi Shana!! I was wondering, what size are you wearing in the vince camuto top? I’m a solid 0 or xs, but the brand always recommends sizing down, and petite just to doesn’t work for me. Any advice you can offer would be great!! Thank you 🙂

    • I’m wearing an XS! It was a perfect length, actually – it tucked easily, but looked really cool out, also. It has some sort of twisted hem thing at the bottom.
