I don’t talk about beauty products much here on TME, but I’ll admit I’m a skincare junkie. I LOVE trying new products, all the time. I love the whole experience of opening a new jar of lotion or a new scrub or mask. I love the packaging, the scents…is anyone else like this? I remember my grandmother used to always smell like the best soapy, light floral scents and lotions. That woman had the softest hands of anyone I’ve ever known. I come by my addiction naturally. She used to save the little free gift products and cute bags for me from all the department store brands. I was her only granddaughter, and I was definitely spoiled with beauty products. Haha.
I’ve been using some Colleen Rothschild products now for over a year. They have become some of my absolute favs. I was excited when this chance came my way to try more of their offerings that I hadn’t checked out yet, including their new release Cocoa Radiant Cleansing Balm. If you’ve been a TME reader for any amount of time, you know the Radiant Cleansing Balm. It’s everything. Hydrating and moisturizing, but also perfectly cleansing and a pleasure to wash your face with. Well, now they’ve come out with a version that smells like chocolate, you guys. And it’s indulgent and fabulous.
Colleen Rothschild is currently having a Customer Appreciation Sale. Use code CAS50 to save $50 off a purchase of $150. Call it a belated Galentine’s gift to yourself and get that cleansing balm!!
Like I said, washing your face with this stuff is actually enjoyable and easy. You rub a small dab all over your dry face (yes, no water dripping down your arms — can I get an AMEN?). The balm dissolves makeup and oil while not stripping your skin of its natural oils. You then wet the luxurious muslin cloth included with the balms in warm water, and place it on your face for a mini-facial. Ahhh. Then wipe off the balm and makeup goes with it.
After that amazing step, I then tried out the new Matcha Tea Treatment Toner. This detoxifies and removes any leftover oils, again without over-drying. The scent is very light and lovely, and the color is gorgeous sitting out on your bathroom counter catching the light. (I told you I was into this stuff).
An additional product I tried for the first time was the Dual Enzyme Polish. This is an exfoliating and brightening scrub you use one to two times a week. You apply it, leave it for five to ten minutes to let the enzymes do their enzyme thing, and then rub in a circular motion to give your skin an awesomely soft glow, and rinse off. I’ve realized the absolute importance of regular exfoliation over the last few years. It is essential to getting a gorgeously smooth texture and natural glow. Plus, it really leaves a nice, smooth surface for better makeup application.
OK, so skin is smooth and glowing. I then applied the Retinol Supreme Eye Serum, because, 41 y’all. I put this under only one eye the other day, and ooh that one was moisturized and looked at least in its early 30s. The other was jealous. I love this stuff so far. It even brought a little morning puffiness down. #fistbump
The last step for me is applying the beautiful Extreme Recovery Cream. OMG. Shana loves this, too, and it’s just the most moisturizing, beautiful thing. I mostly wear it in the evenings, but I do apply it in the mornings in the winter, unless I’m going straight to workout. I find it’s a bit heavy if I’m sweating, but I can’t tell you how lovely this is for dry skin. It doesn’t leave my T-zone feeling greasy either.
This cute travel bag above comes with the Discovery Kit, which I had just ordered myself before trying these other new products. I got it for my upcoming travel so I just don’t have to think about my skincare. It’s all there. Included is the original Radiant Cleansing Balm, Dual Enzyme Polish, Clarifying Detox Mask, Sheer Renewal Cream (good for daytime/warmer weather use), Extreme Recovery Cream, Face Oil N°9 (which I also adore for adding to my nightly routine), and a lovely Muslin Face Cloth.
I’m wearing no foundation here, and look at that glow! And it’s not my eating habits lately either (ALL the birthday treats). Also, my friend Chris who took these lovely photos was totally making me laugh here. We typically hang out at coffee shops and not in my bathroom. So, while we’re both completely professional, we also can’t help but have fun.
And can we talk about my gorgeous robe here for a second? It’s from the lovely Anna Joyce here in Portland. She’s amazing and so are her insanely soft, hand-dyed creations. Between this robe and these products I feel way fancy doing my skincare routine. I’m also wearing the fuzziest slippers ever and the softest sweatpants (size small). I turned 41 recently, and I feel like I’m finally getting it dialed in, you guys.
But seriously, these products are beautiful and your skin feels incredible after using them. If you’re looking for some new skincare, I hope you’ll give these a try. And now is the perfect time to do so!
