Meet my new favorite pants. These babies are crazy comfortable and can go everywhere: coffee, work, date night. They are, technically, ponte pants, but they’re stretchier than the ponte pants I’ve worn before, yet are thicker and super soft. The thickness (and rear pockets HOLLA) make these pants appropriate for work (even if you don’t have your bum covered), but feel like lounge pants.
I’m alllll about lounge-like pants.
Lastly, these pants are high rise so they smooth out your mid-section and don’t need to be tugged up. Yes. Yesyesyes.
Keep reading to see how I styled these pants for a precious weekend morning alone (yes to that, too), work (pretending that I’m still teaching), and date night (sexiest sweatpants ever).
I’ll Have Pancakes With a Side of Silence
In terms of comfort, it’s hard to beat a comfy t-shirt paired with these soft pants. I love the green + oxblood combo for Fall, and grounded the look with neutral accessories. In this case I did both black and taupe.
Wearing:
Pants: “You Raise a Good Ponte Pants” (c/o, Also available in black – I’d recommend sizing down . . . I’m pretty much always a size medium (size 28/6 pants) but got a small and they were perfect.)
Top: Tunic (old, but this top is the perfect length and this short-sleeved tunic has a flattering drape and comes in a ton of colors)
Shoes:Intrigue Heels (c/o, these shoes are surprisingly comfortable and versatile . . . go up a half-size. I usually wear a 7.5 in sandals and an 8 in boots and these would have been too small in 7.5)
Bag: Backpack (Backpacks are so easy and this is a gorgeous green color)
Leather jacket (similar, LOVING the navy color of this one!)
Accessories: Golly Geometric Earrings (c/o, the perfect size for everything from casual to dressy and not too heavy), Leaf Necklace (similar, this one is really pretty too), Rose Gold Watch (similar), Rose Gold Sunnies (similar and on sale!)
Work Work Work Work Work
For work, add a pretty blouse and throw on a trench or blazer. I love this top because the ruffle sleeves help to balance out narrow shoulders and wider hips . . . plus it’s nursing-friendly!
Wearing:
Pants: “You Raise a Good Ponte Pants” (c/o, Also available in black)
Top: Zeal Studies Top in Navy (c/o, also available in white and yellow)
Shoes: Intrigue Heels (c/o, these shoes are surprisingly comfortable and versatile . . . go up a half-size. I usually wear a 7.5 in sandals and an 8 in boots and these would have been too small in 7.5)
Jacket: Pink Trench (similar)
Bag: Tote bag (similar)
Accessories: Golly Geometric Earrings (c/o, the perfect size for everything from casual to dressy and not too heavy), Gold watch (similar)
Take Me Out
Black strappy heels instantly dress up the pants for a night out. Add a sexy little top, statement clutch and earrings. Layer a lace jacket over top for an unexpected touch.
Wearing:
Pants: “You Raise a Good Ponte Pants” (c/o, Also available in black)
Top: Camisole (similar, also loving the neckline of this top which comes in a fuchhsia color that would be perfect with these pants . . . this high-neck sleeveless blouse . . . and this tie top is the perfect day-to-night blouse)
Bag: Statement clutch (sequins, pearls, rhinestones . . . something that makes the outfit)
Shoes: Sandals (similar)
Earrings: Golly Geometric Earrings (c/o, the perfect size for everything from casual to dressy and not too heavy)
Jacket: Jacket (similar, I’m obsessed with the gorgeous lace detail on this one and the accentuated waist)

Those pants sound amazing !!! I might have to try the black pair .!!
Scotti–did you mean to say size DOWN in the pants? I want to know b/c I’m looking at getting myself a pair!! Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing! That didn’t make sense….
Yes!! OMG . . . mom brain!? Size DOWN in the pants! Changing it now . . . thank you for catching that!
I couldn’t even read the whole article because that pic of you, by yourself, in a cafe, eating alone has captivated my imagination! I *know* you weren’t alon (photographer atleast) but it looks amazing…
How is the coverage? I usually don’t like sweat pants or dress pants because I like a more structured look/feel. I don’t like to think about any dimples or panty lines showing…
So cute! They are just too short to work for me. I love the way you describe them. Makes me want a pair.
LOVE these pants but I’d need a tall/long- any ideas on where I could find some awesome ponte ankle pants for us tall ladies?
Have you tried Boden? Love their clothes. These come in petite and long. http://www.bodenusa.com/en-us/womens-pants-jeans/pants/wm442/womens-hampshire-skinny-pants
I just ordered these….I’m hoping it is a tall girl equivalent. http://us.asos.com/asos-tall/asos-tall-pintuck-peg-pant/prd/7097269?iid=7097269&clr=Oxblood&SearchQuery=&cid=18984&pgesize=36&pge=1&totalstyles=79&gridsize=3&gridrow=2&gridcolumn=3
