The Little White Dress I’ll Be Living In All Summer (Yes, It’s Lined)

There’s something about a little white dress in the summertime. 

It’s easy, it’s chic, and if chosen right – ridiculously comfortable.

I had been daydreaming all spring of wearing one with cowboy boots for an evening out, with rubber boots in the never-ending rainstorms we’re getting, with flip flops during the daytime, and even paired with a little kitten heel for happy hour. When I finally began searching around online, it took only a few seconds to realize there are actually a lot of options out there.

But I knew what I wanted, and THIS 100% organic cotton swing dress from Quince checked every box (the main one being: not breaking the bank).

My Quince White Swing Dress Review: Breezy, Lined & Budget-Friendly

I’m a pretty quick decision maker, and I rarely (if ever) think twice or regret decisions. But I had actually hesitated a moment when first searching for a white dress. There’s linen options, dresses with stretch built in, mini-dress moments (which, as a taller gal, I always worry about them actually covering my bum), long house-dress styles…AND the list goes on.

It wasn’t until I realized Quince made an option that suddenly the decision was simple. I knew this dress would be really good quality (after wearing it a few times I can say my hunch was right), AND I will never pass up an opportunity to go with a budget-friendly option (because if it can be made well WITHOUT the markup there is literally no other option in my opinion). 

Quince’s 100% organic cotton gauze swing dress is perfectly breezy without worry of wardrobe malfunctions. The wind can’t lift anything up and the buttons go all the way up to a modest neckline.

The dress has pockets (a mother’s dream for all your toddler’s “treasures”) and maybe MOST importantly?!

It’s lined. 

Meaning this is one of the few white dresses that won’t show off your panties to strangers.

I had a heads-up about the white not being sheer thanks to the hundreds of rave reviews, but I was surprised when I had it in my hands and the attached slip was soft and super lightweight. It doesn’t add noticeable weight nor take away from the softness the dress has naturally.

Plus, cotton gauze is my most favorite summer material. The natural crinkle makes it easy to take on travels, and the highly breathable weave rivals linen.

If you’re particularly in favor of linen, this same dress is made in 100% European Linen, too!

Sizing wise, it’s generous. I went with my usual dress size, but it’s very roomy in both the arm openings and body.

I’ve mostly been wearing this around the house, taking it for a spin with my boots as I had dreamed, but soon I plan to pack this up for a beach vacation. It’s going to be an easy choice for throwing over my swimsuits, and pull double duty for a chic option to wear out to dinner.

And if I were traveling somewhere a bit more touristy that called for lots of walking? Slipping into my favorite sneakers would be so stinkin’ good with this dress!
