Short Hair Styling: The Products I Love

Hey friends! You’ve asked for it, you’ve (finally, heh) got it…a post in where I share all my hair styling favs. This looks like it might be sponsored by R+Co, but it’s not. Haha. I just happen to love their products. They all seem to work like magic and also last a long time on my short hair.

My main tip? Don’t wash your hair too often. I think with short hair we think we have to, but, especially if you color it, you shouldn’t. You get glorious volume and texture when it’s less-than-clean. And with the magic of dry shampoo paste though, you won’t look like your hair is unwashed. Brilliant! I hope this is helpful and informative! Sorry it’s taken me forever to get to this…you know I’m best at trying on jeans.

  1. awesome video! thanks for turning me on to the R+Co dry shampoo paste – love it and am still using it! only on my second jar too! (I don’t know how you go so many days without washing though… I can only go a couple of days max) Thank you from a fellow short-haired gal.

    • Of course! I’m so glad you love it! I’ve colored the heck out of my hair at this point so that may be the trick to washing less often. Lol. But also I think your hair gets used to a different cycle if you can stand it! I remember a while ago I made the switch to longer and it eventually adjusted!

    • I thought about that for this post but since I airdry my hair I wasn’t sure how the whole process would come together. I’m more than happy to answer any questions though about any of them!!

  2. Thank you!! Love this post (and your hair)!!! I’ve always also loved your lipstick colors. Do you mind sharing what you are wearing in the video? Also, what is your favorite red lipstick? Thanks !

  3. What do you do with your hair in the shower on the days you don’t wash it? Try to keep it dry? Just use water? Use conditioner only or something else? Thanks!

    • I typically just clip the front back and just don’t get it wet. It actually does ok if it gets a little wet around the edges and the humidity makes it curl/wave more. I don’t love the feeling of just rinsing with water or conditioner, but occasionally I’ll do that between actual washes!
