I sometimes buy these things that I wear maybe once…and then they get hung in the closet (for all eternity). Well, this darling skirt is one of them. Just when I think I’ve shied away from wearing this too-dressy-for-everyday piece, I tried it with sneakers.
I’ve had the itch to wear it and decided eh…why the heck not? YOLO. I mean, come on. There has to be a way to style this thing with sneakers and make it more wearable for everyday…and then it won’t sit lazily in my closet. Instead, it can revitalize my transitional style a bit.
Also, it’s one of those things that’s actually pretty perfect for Fall down here in the South. The leg slit makes it more breathable and provides a bit more of an opportunity to add a layer or two up top, BUT removable ones that act more as accessories, of course (b/c it’s still too darn hot).

shades: BP. Round Sunglasses – my particular sale is no longer available, but this pair is super cool w/ the blue and tort(!).
sweater: love by design sweater, sold out – for the sleeve look, I’d go with this Tie Sleeve Sweater, but for the slouch factor…I’d go with this Michael Stars V Neck Pullover.
jacket: BlankNYC Moto Jacket – amazing jacket for the price. FYI: I went up one size to a medium.
skirt: ASOS Maxi Wrap Skirt, almost sold out – ya know what, though…I’d totally wear this Sangria Skirt OR even this Ribbed Midi Skirt. Awesome.
sneaks: Golden Goose Deluxe Brand Sneakers, my particular pair is pretty much sold-out – BUT these are very similar. I also really love these with the mix of black, tan & white. Yessssss. Now, if you love the look, but don’t have the $$…CHECK-OUT these Ash Glitter Sneakers. Significantly less. (they have more styles, too)
bag: The Fix Mckenzie Studded Suede & Leather Bucket Bag – an update to the old cross body. Really cute bag (& it’s available in Navy, too!).
earrings: ASOS, old. I LOVE these DesignB London earrings, with the hoop and cross!
Slitted Skirts to Try with Sneakers
Yeh, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. #momstreetstyle, ya’ll. Maybe I’ll be to able to really wear all of the layers to this one by…oh, late December at this point. ha.
