I’ve been coveting Mike’s sneaker oxfords. He wears his with a suit during the week, and jeans on the weekends. As if the already huge comfort-chasm between guy’s clothes and women’s clothes needed to widen. Ugh.
But this latest resurgence of the menswear trend feels a little more….equal opportunity. Spoiler alert: I found the shoes.
Additionally, I found myself developing something of a formula (which sounds so much better than ‘rut’): menswear accessories mixed with delicate little jewelry. The backdrop for all of this? A classic button-down shirt.

The hard part, at least for me, is putting it all together. Here are a few other “sets” that balance the menswear trend with just the right amount delicate jewelry.

A huge thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! Words cannot express how thrilled I was to find SNEAKER OXFORDS as part of your giant shoe selection. As always, all product selection, thoughts, and opinions are my own. And readers, thank you for your continued support. It doesn’t go unnoticed, and is so very much appreciated!
I did not know these shoes existed. Best of both worlds!!!! I love Oxfords and while I like the comfort of sneakers I find it hard to feel cute in them so… you have started my day off with a smile! #shoppingenabled
Yay!! xoxox
I have the gray Cole Haan pair pictured above. They feel like you are walking on air!! I wish I could wear them everyday. Unfortunately while they seem easy to pair with ANYTHING, I struggle to make them work as often as I would like. If this is your style, POUNCE on these gems, theyre AMAZING. Thanks for the simple styling suggestion, I’ll add that too the list, love this top!
They are, by far, the most comfortable things ever. I wear them with skinnies and giant cozy sweaters. What works for you (or what would you like to wear with them)? Am happy to brainstorm!
I have the gray pair featured too! I usually wear mine with black cropped jeans. I prefer some ankle to show with them, so I’m not sure how much I’ll wear them in the winter (except for when I change out of boots at work).
I like Oxfords with tights and a dress too. Still can see the shape of the ankle at least.
I love all of the posts this week! The Mom Edit is hard at work!
OMG Jem, THANK YOU FOR NOTICING! We’re cramming all kind of good stuff into these last two weeks because next week we’re kicking off a new series that will hopefully be lighthearted and funny. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated this comment. 🙂 xoxo
Love love love those shoes! And you have found the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. Great job as always!
Thank you, Megan!! We get really excited over comfy shoes. Like….REALLY excited. 🙂
OBSESSED!!!
Also, THANK YOU for the link you recently shared on recess. Between that and homework…just wtf happened to childhood?
Can you link to the shoes your husband wears? My high schooler would love a sneakery oxford.
These are the shoes Mike has (and hey! on sale!): http://rstyle.me/n/b4izanpxu6
Love the look of these! But I couldn’t justify $200. Wish there were a more budget friendly option shown.
I’m with Jem. It seems like fall 2016 has finally found its groove!
Q. for wearers of distressed denim: is it just me, or is it slightly nerve-wracking to put on jeans with knee holes, all the while hoping your big toe won’t catch on the openings and rip the leg right off? I really want to pull off this look but I’ve been terrified of ripped jeans for years.
Ha yes! I have put my foot through two pairs of AGs which is why I made an executive decision to stop buying them.
