Spring! Look how springy these photos are! Sunny! Gorgeous! (Crying face emoji here) NO. Gray. Still gray. But this jacket makes me happy. It’s brighter and lighter yet provides that bit of warmth we inevitably need in the PNW this time of year. And it’s not a raincoat. So I’m stoked about that. Light jackets are my jam and I’ve found some gems for spring that are easy to throw on with anything for that transitional weather…
Outfit Details
Express Minus the Leather Canvas Jacket – I found this cute ivory canvas/faux leather jacket a month or so ago and had been pondering how to style it. Probably because I only ever wear black and gray. (Except for workout wear, right?) But I was overthinking it. Throw on a pale colored tee and it goes with anything. It’d be superb with light color jeans, too. I’d also wear it over all black (of course I would) for a nice contrast. Bonus, it’s on sale and 20% off of the sale price right now! Size Small, for reference.
Banana Republic V Neck Tee – Love these soft, lightweight tees. Wearing size Small, for reference.
Madewell Slim Boy Jean – Really loving the cut and fit of these. They fit true to size and while they’re not high rise they’re flattering on the waist. I love the straight leg and the wash is sooo good. Size 27, for reference.
Dolce Vita Sonya Bootie – My favorite spring purchase in a while. So comfy and soft and I can wear them all day. They look great with everything and they’re on sale! I sized down from my normal 8 to a 7.5 and they’re perfect.
Rebecca Minkoff Julian Backpack – Surprise surprise. Best bag ever. I’ve had trouble finding the gray color I have (the link there is the same color, but the medium size), but there are some other gorgeous spring options like this taupe (gah! in the medium size, not full sized) and this petal pink in the full size.
Betsy & Iya Novi Hoop Earrings – These earrings are so good. Love this Portland local jeweler!

This day y’all, this was puppy day, by the way. If you follow me on Instagram (@elletrain) you’ve seen our new addition to the family. I lost my sweet doggie 2 years ago and have waited patiently for a new pup until Sienna got a little older. Well, I’m waiting no longer and we found our sweet border collie and named her Camper. You’ll see her again I’m sure.
If you notice any dark circles under my eyes in upcoming posts, I blame the little furball and the middle-of-the-night backyard trips. Worth. Every. Minute of sleep lost, though. If you’re a dog person, you know. There’s nothing like a puppy!
Coffee is my BFF,
