Friends. Athleta Workout Favorites: Not-So-Basic Black

When it comes to versatility and closet staples that are good investments, you can’t go wrong with black. It always looks chic and cool. But, I know a few of my go-to black pieces could use an upgrade to reflect a little more current cut, shape and vibe. I want all of these below. They feel totally fresh and cool. Doing my barre3 workouts at home right now is keeping me sane and healthy. These types of pieces would help feed that part of me that’s getting a little neglected right now, the part of me that vibes on style. I think it’s important to keep that alive and well these days, too. This collection is getting me excited about clothes again and that feels huge.

1/ Cloudlight Relaxed Muscle Tank: One of my top picks. I ordered it and plan to wear for workouts, and with a cute bralette or sports bra this summer.

2/ Shanti Crop Jacquard Tank: LOVE the cool print on this. I’ve been adding more cropped workout bra tops to my collection and am feeling good about these with my high-waisted leggings. Plus, less laundry! And we’re working out at home right now, so rock the crop tops!

3/ Essence Twist Top: This style is really flattering on us shorter-waisted folks. Love these with high-waist leggings. It’d also be so cute with the wide leg culottes I’ve linked below, too!

4/ Studio Jogger: These just look insanely comfy and cute. Offered in petite and tall lengths, too, so we can all get the right fit.

5/ Canopy Parachute Jacket: Adore. Adore. Off to put in my cart. This comes in a cool mustard, as well as a great olive green, too. Which one?

6/ Salutation Jogger: Love the look of these as a similar version to my older favorite Athleta joggers. I love that they’re a slimmer fit, so it makes them more wearable outside of lounging. A slim jogger really does travel well and dress up well, and of course, they’re comfy, too.

Color is a huge mood-booster, and these gorgeous shades below are seriously boosting for me right now. Colors don’t have to be bright to be uplifting — as someone who only occasionally embraces wearing much color, these earth tones are just the right balance of wearable and fresh.
