Chic Nail Colors To Try This Winter

I’m a huge fan of polished nails. Whether it be fingers or toes, I pretty much have mine polished 24/7.

I’m not someone who is a super stickler for wearing certain colors only in winter or only in summer, but I do appreciate somewhat adhering to that idea. And honestly, who doesn’t love just gazing at a collage of pretty nail polish colors that vibe together? While we’re cozied up at home, avoiding the winter weather, we might as well indulge in a little inspiration for January nail colors …and in case you missed it, I just did a 3 Easy At-Home Manicures article, too!

Winter Nail Polish Colors For Light & Dark Cute Nail Looks

Whether you’re a big fan of dark winter nail colors (as I am most of the time) or more into lighter colors — icy blues, shimmery whites, and mauvey-lilacs (what I’m super into right now) — there’s a little something for everyone’s winter mani in this list.

We’ve got high-end polishes, like my favorite Chanel and Gucci, plant-based and vegan options (Lakur from LONDONTOWN, black-owned brand Auda B., and Deborah Lippmann) and even a local pick, Claw’s Out, that benefits awesome charities with each bottle sold.

A collage of the best winter nail colors.

1 + 2 | Gucci Vernis à Ongles Nail Polish in Crystal Black: I mean, classic black nails are always my favorite. Gucci’s polish may seem fancy but like sometimes, treat yourself amiright? It gets good reviews, but perhaps swap out the brush with this one.

3 | Gucci Vernis à Ongles Nail Polish in Winterset SnowOr for a clean light winter nail look, white nails are lovely!

4 | Chanel LE VERNIS Nail Color in Rouge Brun: One of the most gorgeous shades I’ve ever seen. If you’re a dark nail polish fan like me, THIS. Also check out shade Infinite, too.

5 | Claw’s Out in Keanu’s Eyes: I mean, best nail polish name ever. This Portland-based polish company donates 10% of each shade sold to a different charity organization. This one goes to Best Friend’s Animal Society.

6 | Essie Twill of It: Definitely Northern Lights vibes and I’m so here for it.

7 | LONDONTOWN Lakur in Bell Flower: This brand has become one of my new favorites. Their healthy polishes and repair products are awesome. I mentioned their Illuminating Nail Concealer in my recent easy DIY manicures post. This color is so gorgeous and pretty for any time of year, but it says ‘wintery lilac’ to me and I love the hint of mauve.

8 | LONDONTOWN Lakur in Save the Queen: These creamy mauvey purple shades for winter are obviously where my head is at right now. So lovely.

9 | Deborah Lippman in Thunder Road: The name gets that Garth Brooks song stuck in my head, but gosh I’ll always love a brownish-gray polish. Reminds me of You Don’t Know Jacques from OPI that I used to wear all the time, but this is a bit darker. Love this brand of polish for its very high-quality application.

10 | Deborah Lippmann Set: I honestly adore a mini polish set because you can try multiple shades, do a palette mani AND the colors don’t dry out before you can use them all. The Dance Party set is also super fun.

11 | Essie in Find Me An Oasis: This is a gorgeous, super-pale ice blue.

12 | ExprEssie in Iced Out: This shade will give you the ‘glazed donut’ type manicure Hailey Bieber wore last year. So shimmery and pretty. I’m mostly a non-shimmer fan, but the sheer shimmery shades like this get me.

13 | Claw’s Out in Matriarchy: Another fab option from this brand, this gold shade benefits Mom’s Demand Action

14 | Auda B in Limitless: Auda B is a black-owned nail polish brand I’m loving the color options from right now. They go in and out of stock, but definitely give them a try! This green and pink at Nordstrom didn’t fit the particular winter vibes of this list, but gahhhh — so pretty!

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely adding to my polish collection after perusing all of these colors.

It’s hard to resist Keanu’s Eyes…but for now my top two nail polish colors are Bell Flower and Rouge Brun. If I missed any of your favorite winter nail polish colors, let me know in the comments!

Ooh and lastly I’ve been wearing this pale lilac (they call it Blueberry Jam) shade of the Ohora semi-cured gel nails and LOVING it! It looks much softer/grayer in person and not as springy as it seems online.

xo,
