This Grass Green Coat….All Fall Long. (Styled 4 Ways)

I am a neutral-loving babe when it comes to my color-palette choices for clothing. I love all shades of tan, brown, black and white — and most often in the fall and winter months, I wear black on black on black.

But this year is different.

This year, I’m adding grass green to my fall wardrobe. What I love about this color for fall is that it pairs so well with all the neutral tones I already adore. It’s a surprisingly versatile color to wear with all the neutrals and a select few colors I have in my closets.

Fall Has A New Color: A Grass Green Trenchcoat + 4 Ways To Wear it

I was inspired by my wish lists and purchases from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — the theme of green kept popping up for my top choices of jackets, tops and accessories. In particular, I fell in LOVE with this gorgeous grass-green trenchcoat from Halogen. I loved it when I first saw it online, and the same was true when I had the opportunity to try it on in-store.

What I love about this trenchcoat is that it’s such a gorgeous color, has a beautiful silky green lining, and because it’s made of synthetic materials, it works so well for anyone who, like me, is allergic to wool and cashmere. It has a super-soft feel, and the ultra-wide and deep pockets will store everything you need for a quick run to the grocery store.

Outfit 1: Upgrade Your Neutral Monochromatic Look

This all-monochromatic look feels like a fresh take on the iconic on-the-model runway looks. But instead of neutrals, this grass-&-forest-green combo is reviving it!

OK, hear me out. This monochromatic look feels like a fresh take on the iconic on-the-model runway looks I have seen all over Pinterest for the past year. But instead of the neutral monochromatic look, this grass-and-forest-green combo is reviving it! I am obsessed with the all-green-on-green moment and opted to add just a hint of blue with my sneaker choice.

This outfit is beyond cozy, & the Nasty Gal sweat set I'm wearing is that perfect oversized fit, which is such a challenge to find for plus-size babes.

Outfit 2: Spice Up An All-Black Look

Both the AllSaints top & the Le Ore Rimini pants I'm wearing are elevated loungewear pieces that can fool anyone into thinking you are super-put-together.

While this black-on-black ensemble appears hella chic, and it is, it actually feels a whole lot like pajamas. Both the AllSaints top and the Le Ore Rimini pants I’m wearing are elevated loungewear pieces that can fool anyone into thinking you are super-put-together. For me, the icing on the cake is that the coat just pulls everything together into one gorgeous-looking outfit!

The slit at the ankle of the Le Ore Rimini pants is quite sexy, & I love that you can peep more of my Chloe mules.

Outfit 3: Playing With Primary Colors

These colors all work so well together because they fall more into the jewel-tone category rather than the true primary color palette. If I worked in the office, I would 100% wear this to work.

Remember when I said I love neutrals?! Well, that may have just changed because I am OBSESSED with this outfit! It’s a total play on primary colors, and I have my bases covered with yellow trousers, a blue top and a red lip to complete the look. These colors all work so well together because they fall more into the jewel-tone category rather than the true primary color palette. If I worked in the office, I would 100% wear this to work. It’s such a fun outfit combo and makes me think I need to start playing with color more often!

The exact trousers I’m wearing are a part of a satin set that I bought a long while ago from Good American. I absolutely love the fit of the set, but it’s unfortunately very sold out, so I have rounded up a few more great yellow trouser options for both straight- and plus-size babes!

Outfit 4: Baggy Jeans, Cropped Hoodies & Trenchcoats = My New Fall Uniform

My Good '90s baggy jeans by Good American are still some of my most-worn, & I especially love to wear them in the cooler seasons.

This fit is the most basic of them all, and it’s giving Clean Girl Aesthetic. My Good ’90s baggy jeans are still some of my most-worn, and I especially love to wear them in the cooler seasons. This entire look is such a vibe, and I love how it all just works! It feels like a great fall uniform for those weekend errands and, my favorite, a trip to Whole Foods!

This green trenchcoat is seriously so good, and I love that it goes with just about everything in my closet! Casual looks, fancy looks, elevated athleisure — it’s just so good. I am sure you will catch me wearing it on the ‘Gram!

  1. OMG you look amazing in all of these outfits. My colors are more winter-based and I adore this green… and the monochromatic look and the one with the blue and yellow are amazing. I live in the Bay Area, CA, and I’m not sure I even need a coat but damn, you make all the things look good.

  2. You look terrific in all the looks (and had me at “hello” on the coat) but i LOVE you in look #3 – you look stunning!
