One of my favorite parts of dressing for spring is how easy all the pieces feel after a long, cold winter of thick fabrics. There’s something so lovely about heading out the door with just a light jacket, pulling out the sandals, and opting for breezy, flowy silhouettes!

Since springtime can often feel as though it lasts a bit shorter than the winter and summer months, I love collecting pieces that can effortlessly transition into the soon-to-follow hotter weather. JCPenney not only has the most amazing color options right now (go look, it’s seriously inspiring), but a selection of denim and pants that would be as incredible for errands around town as they would be for spring and summer getaways. I rounded up my most faves below, all of which happily could make for an epic spring capsule wardrobe, too, if I do say so myself!

01 | a.n.a High Rise 5″ Denim Short
These denim shorts check all the boxes for me. The visible button fly adds such an eye-pleasing design that makes the shorts more unique than your average pair, plus the extra length in the inseam is something I appreciate when running after a toddler (not to mention, it’s just comfortable). There are two other washes available, but without the visible button fly.
02 | Worthington 3/4 Sleeve Button-Down Shirt
This top is a part of JCPenney’s “wear to work” category and I adore the longer sleeves. It’s appropriate for work, yet still so cute that you’d want to wear it with jeans on your off days. If you’re looking for a brighter pop of color, it’s also available in a bolder coral!
03 | a.n.a Stone Drop Hoop Earrings
A simple, classic earring is something I love rocking these days, and I like how these feel classic with just a *little* something extra.
04 | Liz Claiborne Ingrid Crossbody Bag
This floral bag would pair so well with both a colorful spring wardrobe and also a neutral one. I especially love that the colors feel a bit brighter than the average pastel shades you see this time of year. This bag also comes in the most fantastic shade of green that’s actually making me giddy.
