Nothing quite gets me motivated to move my body like an activewear refresh, so when the rain finally (well, uh, almost) let up earlier this month, I couldn’t wait to don my bright new running sneaks and hit the coast trail.
I’ve been living in and loving adidas everything for most of my life, and as much as I sing the constant praises of their streetwear, somehow I’ve neglected to mention just how much of my workout wardrobe bears those familiar three stripes.

Adidas Workout Gear Has Me Up & Running This Spring — Rain Or Shine
This adidas running set is the newest addition to my collection. It’s performance-oriented and ideally suited for spring workouts. We’re talking lightweight running tights (some of the best I’ve worn, ever) and a truly supportive sports bra — both are sleek without constricting — and a swingy, cropped sweatshirt that is borderline too cool for me (buuuut I’m obsessed with it nonetheless).
And though I’ve been running in adidas for the past few years now, these Pureboost running shoes wowed me with their immediate comfort and bouncy cushioning that literally had me looking for excuses to lace up. So while they’re phenomenal for running, they’ve become part of my daily uniform, too.
I go into greater detail below, but everything in this outfit is sustainable, breathable and moisture-wicking. This is doubly handy when that rain that you thought had let up decides to make a comeback on the one run when you decide to bring your photographer friend along. Talk about a spring refresh!
The Best Running Tights…With Pockets Galore!
I’m so, so picky when it comes to athletic apparel — running leggings, in particular. These Daily Run 7/8 Leggings have everything, and I mean everything, that I want in a running tight: sleek, breathable composition (they feel extremely lightweight on); a hidden drawstring waist to ensure they stay right where you want ’em; and pockets. As in plural. One in each leg, and one in the small of your back. All of them are ideally sized for my phone, but I prefer to run with the phone in one of the leg pockets for quick access, and the back pocket is ideal for my earbuds and an I.D., or for longer distance runs you could fit a bar or energy gels in there. We’ve always loved adidas’ commitment to sustainability, and these are made with 70% recycled content. I tried on both the XS and the small and I preferred the fit of the small since the waist can be cinched.
Stay Cool (Literally) With This Bra + Hoodie Combo
Now that I’m not nursing a babe constantly, I’m back to wearing sports bras that offer a little more coverage and support, and this Running Medium Support Bra holds everything in place while looking sleek and pretty. It doesn’t ride up, and it hits in just the right spot. Not quite a longline, but it’s far from skimpy, so I’m comfortable in it when I’m warm enough to lose my outer layer.
Speaking of which, this adidas HIIT AEROREADY Crop Training Hoodie is so fun, with cutouts that make it feel both edgy and elevated and super breathable. Here on the coast, I almost always start my runs with an extra layer. This hoodie is ideal — it protects from the chill without clinging or overheating. (The hood is especially handy when the sky decides to open up, like, ohhh, on the day we shot this post.)
So while it’s unconventional and cool, this is one piece that’s genuinely functional, with moisture-wicking and antimicrobial properties, too. And it’s 100% recycled poly. Truly the best of all worlds. And also available in black, which I’m sorely tempted to pick up, as well. Wearing a Small.
For Daily Jogs (or Busy Days): adidas Pureboost Running Shoes
These adidas Pureboost 22 Running Shoes are supremely comfy and are ideally suited for everything from punchy, daily runs to walking all over town. I couldn’t resist the bright white with the classic three stripes and the pop of neon orange, which look slick on the road but manage to look current and cool with jeans, too. (Thought my running-shoes-with-jeans days were done in the early aughts, but here we go again!) All the reviews on these said true to size, but I found that, as with most adidas styles, I needed to size down half from my usual.
Here’s to moving our bodies and feeling good — rain or shine. 😉
Thank you so much to adidas for sponsoring this post. I’m so stinkin’ giddy to have the opportunity to work with a brand that I’ve been loving and wearing for most of my life, and I can’t say enough great things about not only the pieces featured here but all of the sneakers, hoodies, tearaway pants (!!) and more that I’ve collected over the years. Fangirling doesn’t begin to describe it. And thank you, friends, for spending your time with us here on The Mom Edit. We do genuinely appreciate your support!
