Thank you to Saks OFF 5TH and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.
I have long been drooling over the gorgeous dresses from For Love & Lemons, but I’ve never actually bought one myself — until now. They’ve usually been too far out of my price range…until I discovered Saks OFF 5TH.
And I. Am. Obsessed. It’s my new favorite site.
I literally can’t get over how many designers they carry at amazingly good prices — I even found the strappy shoes I’ve been lusting after for years for half the price I’d find them anywhere else. Designer handbags, jewelry, sunglasses, even beauty…if I ever need to dress up, Saks OFF 5TH is now the first place I’m looking (and their Summer Clearance Event is happening now – July 31st!).
Which brings me to…my new favorite dress.
A Pretty Puff-Sleeve Mini Dress That’s Fun, Flirty + Floral: For Love & Lemons
Zack and I got to go on a date night recently. Like a real, just the two of us, no kids, sitting-down-to-eat-while-wearing-a-dress date night. It. Was. Awesome. And I can’t tell you how much fun it was to wear this linen-blend mini dress. It’s fun and flirty, but not so dressed up that I felt out of place. The linen blend is perfect for summer — it’s not too tight or too hot and I had zero problems eating all the food while wearing it (fish fry and fries — YUM) without it clinging to my belly. It’s the kind of dress that literally just makes me happy when I put it on.
I love the pretty details like the ruffle hem, statement shoulders and bows on the sleeves. I usually can’t wear puffy sleeves because they tend to slide off my shoulders, but these stayed up because the back zipper goes all the way to the top. They weren’t overly huge either, so I didn’t feel like a fashion victim. (And the neckline is fun too. 😉)
…Plus These Platform Sandals
I fell in love with these sandals online but it wasn’t until I wore them and actually walked in them that I realized how amazing they are. I thought I’d probably be able to wear them for a couple of hours at a time…mostly while sitting down. But they’re made of soft leather that’s not too tight across the foot and the heel is only slightly higher than the platform sole. So while I felt incredibly tall wearing them (yay!), my foot wasn’t at an uncomfortable angle.
Not only did I wear them for multiple hours, but I ended up walking over a mile to a friend’s house in them! I couldn’t believe that my feet didn’t hurt — I mean I probably won’t be able to run after the kids in these, but they definitely exceeded my expectations on the comfort level. (And how cute are they??)
dress: For Love & Lemons Rose Striped Mini Dress – I LOVE this dress. I went with my recommended size of medium (I’m usually a size 6/small or medium in dresses) and it was perfect. It’s lined (which I loved for a bit of extra coverage) and made from a linen blend so it’s not too hot. It’s such a fun dress to wear!
bag: Straw Studios Circle Straw Crossbody Bag (currently sold out, but this round bag looks almost identical and comes in three different colors – it’s .25″ smaller in diameter but .25″ wider.) This was a great find. I’m able to fit everything I need (including my glasses case!) in it and I love the summery style.
shoes: Schutz Celi Leather Platform Sandals – OK, these are high…but comfortable. The night I wore these, I ended up standing in them for hours and then walked just over a mile in them…and my feet? DIDN’T HURT. Insane. (Aaaand I love how tall they make me!)
